Los Angeles housing stock spans a century, and the wall behind your TV tells you which decade you are in. A Spanish bungalow in Highland Park or a Santa Monica craftsman is lath and plaster — brittle, deep, and hiding studs where the finder says there are none. A 1970s Valley tract house is clean wood studs and drywall. A Downtown or Marina loft is poured concrete. And an enormous number of LA living rooms have a brick fireplace from the 1920s to the 1940s in the middle of the only good wall.

That fireplace is the job we get called about most in Los Angeles, and it is also the one most often done badly. We check the surface temperature before we drill, anchor into the brick rather than the mortar joints where the brick allows it, and fit a tilting or pull-down mantel mount so the screen actually sits at eye level from the couch instead of forcing everyone to watch upward for two hours.

We cover Los Angeles County, Orange County and the nearer parts of Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside — roughly 80 miles out from Downtown, with no travel fee at any distance. Same-day slots are available seven days a week; traffic is planned into the schedule, so the arrival window we text you is the one we keep.

Condos & HOA

Building paperwork is our job, not yours

Westside and Marina buildings, Downtown lofts and most Orange County HOAs ask for a certificate of insurance before a contractor comes up. We issue a COI naming the association as additional insured, normally the same day, and we book the service elevator and load-in window with the building once you give us the contact. Drill-hour restrictions are common here — tell us the rules and we schedule to them. Renting? Lag bolts into two studs leave four small holes you fill with spackle at move-out, and a paintable raceway comes off with them; ask your landlord in writing and mention an insured installer — that usually gets a yes.

  • Certificate of insurance naming your association, usually same day
  • Service elevator and loading dock booked by us
  • Background-checked, uniformed technicians
  • Drop cloths down, dust vacuumed, packaging taken away

“The TV used to be too high to watch comfortably. Kostiantyn fitted a pull-down mount into the brick, set the stops so it clears the mantel, and now it comes down to eye level with one hand. He checked the heat above the firebox before drilling, which the last guy did not.”

“1926 house, plaster walls, and I was worried about cracking. Dmytro found the studs behind the lath, drilled clean holes and there is not a chip anywhere. The raceway is painted the wall color and basically invisible.”

“Came down from LA to Irvine at no extra charge, which I did not expect. The full-motion arm in the kitchen corner was his suggestion and it is the best part of the whole setup.”

The walls we actually find in Los Angeles

Different market, different walls. The hardware changes with the wall; the result does not.

Lath and plaster (pre-1950)

Half of the Westside, Hancock Park, Pasadena and the older Valley. Plaster is brittle and deep — we pilot slowly, find the real stud behind the lath and never trust a stud finder's first reading on these walls.

Brick fireplaces, 1920s–1940s

Extremely common in LA and often unreinforced. We anchor into solid brick with masonry sleeves, stay away from cracked or spalling faces, and pull-test before we leave.

Wood studs and drywall

Post-war tract housing across the Valley, Santa Clarita and Orange County. The straightforward one: lag bolts into two studs, level, done.

Concrete in Downtown and Marina lofts

Solid concrete and block. A rotary hammer and the right anchors make this quick; in-wall cable routing is not possible, so we use a paintable raceway.

Stucco on patios and pool houses

Outdoor mounts get stainless hardware, sealed cable entries and a placement out of the direct afternoon sun.

TV mounting in Los Angeles — questions we get

Still unsure? Call (877) 676-8880 — a person answers, 8am–8pm.

How much does TV mounting cost in Los Angeles?
A flat $119 for TVs up to 60 inches, $129 for 61–85 inches and from $179 for 86 inches and up. A mount is $39 fixed, $49 tilting or $69 full-motion if you need one; cables inside a framed wall are $69, a paintable raceway $39. Lath and plaster, brick and concrete cost the same as drywall.
Can you mount a TV on lath and plaster?
Yes, and it is one of the most common walls in Los Angeles. Plaster needs slow pilot holes and a real stud behind the lath — a stud finder alone will lie to you on these walls. We locate the stud, drill through the plaster without spalling the face, and lag straight into the framing.
Can you mount above my brick fireplace?
Yes, and we do it constantly in LA. We check the surface temperature first, anchor into solid brick rather than the mortar joints where we can, and fit a tilting or pull-down mantel mount so the picture is at eye level from your couch instead of up near the ceiling.
Do you cover Orange County and the Valley at the same price?
Yes. Irvine, Anaheim, Woodland Hills and Santa Clarita cost exactly what Santa Monica costs — there is no travel fee anywhere in our service area, which runs about 80 miles out from Downtown LA.
Is a wall mount earthquake-safe?
A TV bolted through two studs with correctly rated lag bolts is far safer in a quake than one standing on furniture. We torque to spec and pull-test at twice the screen's weight; on full-motion arms we also check that the arm cannot swing free of its detents.
How soon can you get to me, with LA traffic?
Same-day and next-day slots are usually open, seven days a week, 8am–8pm. Traffic is the whole scheduling problem in this market, so we plan it in: crews are based on the Westside, in the Valley and in North Orange County, and the arrival window we text you is the one we keep rather than an optimistic guess.
