Rebuilt homes west of Sepulveda and offices in Smoky Hollow

Original houses have wood studs with plaster in the untouched rooms and drywall in the additions. The rebuilds are straightforward drywall on 16-inch studs, often pre-wired with a media box. Either way the answer is two studs and 5/16-inch lag bolts, and cables go inside the wall with a power kit ($69).

Offices in Smoky Hollow and along Rosecrans mix brick shells from the 1940s with new steel-stud partitions. On brick we drill the brick face and set sleeve anchors; on steel studs we use toggles across two studs and route HDMI to a floor box or the conference table. Metal studs.

Jet noise and soundbars

Houses under the LAX approach hear every departure, and TV speakers lose that fight. A soundbar mounted under the TV ($69) on its own bracket, connected by HDMI eARC, is the most requested add-on in El Segundo. Soundbars under a TV.

Conference rooms and lobbies

For offices we mount single displays or rows of screens, level to the millimeter, and work before or after business hours. We provide a certificate of insurance for the landlord. The method is the same as for commercial menu boards.

What this means for your TV wall

With a median build year of 1964 and 40.7% of homes built before 1960, many El Segundo walls still hide original plaster, and pre-1978 paint gets lead-safe handling from us. Renters hold 57.5% of homes, so the TV wall often belongs to a landlord: we plan raceways or small, patchable openings and check what the lease allows first. Rebuilt houses here offer clean drywall on wood studs and the easiest in-wall runs in town.

Tree streets, the Aviation Corridor and the rebuilds

The tree-streets tract went up in 1949, the year the airport was renamed LAX, and plenty of those houses still have their first living rooms. Expect plaster that cracks if a drill bit spins too fast, studs that drift off the usual spacing, and pre-1978 paint covered by EPA lead-safe rules for paid work. Dmytro finds framing with a thin pilot bit, scores the surface before drilling and keeps every opening small (finding studs behind plaster).

A rebuild on the same narrow lot is the opposite job: fresh drywall, open bays and a short in-wall run. If you are building now, call us at the framing stage; we mark blocking and a recessed box at the height your sofa needs, then return after paint to hang the screen. Dmytro's crew sees the same pattern in Manhattan Beach.

Soundproofed homes in the LAX noise zone

Houses in the 65–70 dB CNEL aircraft noise zone follow a city checklist for roofs, attics, vents, windows and doors, and the LAWA soundproofing program has fitted homes near LAX with double-paned windows, solid-core doors and attic insulation. When a soundproofed window sits beside the best viewing wall, we set the stops on a full-motion arm, or add a tether as FEMA E-74 suggests, so the screen cannot swing into the glass. On an exterior wall we confirm what insulation the retrofit left in the cavity before planning an in-wall run. Hidden cables with a listed power kit cost $69; renters, and anyone who would rather not open old plaster, can pick a painted raceway at $39 (cable concealment options). Either way, the TV's own power cord never goes inside the wall; the kit carries power to the screen.

On-site notes from El Segundo jobs

  • Lots west of Main Street are narrow; tell us about alley access for large TVs.
  • Some older houses have a floor furnace below the living-room wall — we check before running cables down the stud bay.
  • Office jobs can start at 7am so the room is ready by the first meeting.

TV mounting in El Segundo, CA: common questions

Do you install TVs in El Segundo offices?
Yes — conference rooms, lobbies and break rooms, on steel-stud, brick or concrete walls, outside business hours if needed.
Can you add a soundbar under my TV?
Yes, $69 with the installation, on its own bracket and connected by HDMI eARC.
How much does TV mounting cost in El Segundo?
$119 up to 60 inches and $129 up to 85 inches, no travel fee.
Will a TV mount affect my LAX soundproofing upgrades?
No. We anchor into wall studs, stay clear of the window and door units the program installed, and limit any arm that could swing toward that glass. On an insulated exterior wall we check the cavity before planning an in-wall cable run.
I rent in a small apartment building. Can you avoid cutting the wall?
Yes. Many rentals here are in buildings of 5 to 19 units, where landlords prefer no cuts. We anchor into studs with holes that patch easily, run a painted raceway along the trim and send the manager our insurance certificate.
Can you mount above the gas fireplace in my older house?
Usually, yes. We run the gas logs first and measure the wall above the firebox; about 1 in 8 reads too warm just above the mantel, and then we go higher with tilt or suggest a pull-down. Check your viewing angle with our height tool.
