The city is built from brick. Two-flats, greystones and bungalows in Lakeview, Logan Square, Portage Park and Beverly have plaster over wood lath on the inside and a solid masonry party wall on at least one side — often exactly the wall the couch faces. We anchor into the brick itself on masonry walls, find the studs behind the lath on framed ones and drill slowly enough that the plaster stays in one piece.

Downtown is concrete. River North, the West Loop, the South Loop and the lakefront towers have poured-concrete walls and columns with metal-stud partitions between units, strict move-in rules and service elevators that must be booked days ahead. Out in the suburbs — Naperville, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights — it is wood framing, drywall and very often a finished basement where the big TV actually lives.

We cover about 80 miles out from the Loop, from the North Shore down to Joliet and west to Aurora and Elgin, with no travel fee anywhere in that area and same-day slots seven days a week — winter included.

Building paperwork is our job, not yours

Most downtown and lakefront condo buildings require a certificate of insurance naming the association, a reserved service elevator and work inside set hours, sometimes with a deposit. We issue the COI and book the elevator ourselves. In co-ops and older courtyard buildings the board may want to know about drilling into masonry — send the rules and we work to them.

  • Certificate of insurance naming your association, usually same day
  • Service elevator and loading dock booked by us
  • Background-checked, uniformed technicians
  • Drop cloths down, dust vacuumed, packaging taken away

“Our only good TV wall is the brick one we share with the neighbors. Pavlo drilled into the brick, not the mortar, and ran a raceway painted to match. It looks like it was built in.”

“Hundred-year-old house, brick fireplace, plaster everywhere. Pavlo took his time, checked the heat and the brick, and the TV is solid and level. No cracks in the plaster at all.”

The walls we actually find in Chicago

Different market, different walls. The hardware changes with the wall; the result does not.

Plaster over lath in two-flats and greystones

Lakeview, Logan Square, Portage Park, Beverly. Brittle plaster on wood lath: we score it, drill slowly and anchor to the studs behind, so nothing cracks.

Brick party walls and interior masonry

Common brick behind the plaster on shared walls. Sleeve anchors into solid brick — not the mortar — and a pull test before the screen goes on.

Concrete and metal studs in downtown high-rises

River North, the West Loop, the South Loop, the Gold Coast. Rotary hammer into concrete, snap-toggles into steel studs, COI and elevator booked ahead.

Finished basements in the suburbs

Naperville, Schaumburg, Orland Park. Drywall over poured-concrete foundation walls — masonry anchors through the furring, cables to the utility room.

Vintage brick fireplaces in the older suburbs

Evanston, Oak Park, Hinsdale, Wilmette. Deep mantels and century-old brick: we check the masonry and the heat, and say so when a pull-down mount is the better answer.

TV mounting in Chicago — questions we get

Still unsure? Call (877) 676-8880 — a person answers, 8am–8pm.

Can you mount a TV on plaster walls in a Chicago two-flat?
Yes. Plaster over lath is brittle, so we score it, drill slowly and anchor to the studs behind the lath — or to the brick itself if it is a masonry wall. Done right, nothing cracks, and the mount is stronger than on drywall.
Can you mount on a brick party wall?
Yes. On solid brick we use sleeve anchors set into the brick, not the mortar joints, and pull-test them before the TV goes up. Cables cannot go inside a brick wall, so we run a paintable raceway or route through an adjacent framed wall where the layout allows.
Do you work in downtown high-rises with strict building rules?
Yes, most of our downtown jobs are in them. We send the certificate of insurance naming the association, book the service elevator and work to the building's hours. Concrete gets a rotary hammer and concrete anchors, metal studs get snap-toggles rated for the TV.
Do Naperville, Evanston and Schaumburg cost the same as the city?
Yes. Evanston, Naperville, Schaumburg, Oak Park, Orland Park, Aurora and Joliet all cost what Lincoln Park costs — no travel fee anywhere inside the service area, which reaches about 80 miles out from the Loop.
Do you come out same-day in winter too?
Yes. We keep same-day and next-day slots seven days a week, 8am–8pm, all year. Crews start from the North Side, the Northwest suburbs and DuPage County, so the suburbs get the same windows as the city. Pick a time in the calculator and we confirm by text.
