Robbins Park Queen Anne
The family burns wood most winter nights, so Artem tested with a real fire; hidden test holes found solid brick.

Hinsdale pairs landmark Queen Anne and Prairie houses with big homes on teardown lots around the BNSF Metra station. Artem's DuPage crew knows both: plaster over old brick chimneys, stacked stone in tall family rooms, finished lower levels. Book a same-day visit and get a flat price before we drill.
TV mounting in Hinsdale is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for plaster or brick.
Historic homes have plaster over wood lath, deep trim and fireplaces with stone or tile surrounds. We drill slowly, anchor into studs behind the lath and anchor above fireplaces into the chimney breast. Studs behind plaster.
New estates have 20-foot family rooms, stone fireplaces and lower-level media rooms. We check heat and blocking, and bring two technicians for 86 inches and up ($179). Big TVs.
Formal living rooms get a Samsung Frame: flush to the wall, art mode on, one thin cable inside ($69). Frame TVs.
A 20-foot stone fireplace puts the natural TV spot far too high. We talk through a pull-down mount ($99) or a better wall before drilling. TVs over fireplaces.
6,215 homes and about 17,175 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
89.9% of Hinsdale homes are lived in by their owners, so a TV wall here is planned to stay for years. Age, not building type, sets the job. 28.5% of homes predate 1960: plaster, brick chimneys, fireplaces that still burn wood. The median year built is 1981, pulled forward by teardown-era houses with stone surrounds, tall great rooms and finished lower levels, and we plan each visit around which one we are walking into.
East of downtown, the Robbins Park district and the village's landmark list hold the houses Hinsdale has chosen to keep, and the Village Board still adds to that list. Historic review here targets exterior changes; a TV on an interior wall leaves the facade alone. Chimney breasts are often plaster over brick, sometimes painted, so we drill only the anchor holes with dust collection and never sand or scrape. A test hole inside the bracket's footprint shows whether we hit brick or a later stud wall. On a plastered brick breast, plan on about two hours. Because so many of these fireplaces burn wood, the heat test uses your real fire. A new outlet behind the screen is a licensed electrician's job, and the TV's power cord never runs inside the wall. Details are on our fireplace TV page.

A 2016 report found Hinsdale had sharply raised its demolition fee, and the new houses on those lots brought tall stone fireplaces and finished basements. Upstairs, height is the question. Every fireplace visit starts with a 20-minute burn at full output and a reading where you want the screen; about 1 in 8 comes back too hot. A pull-down mount often solves it ($99 assembly), so measure your mantel depth before you buy one: past 18 inches, no pull-down fits. The mantel mount page and our height tool help settle the spot. Downstairs, the media wall is usually drywall on furring over poured concrete; a 65- to 85-inch TV is $129. Cables often drop to the utility room. Our only Hinsdale video wall, a 2x1, went into one of these rooms. The same crew covers Naperville and Elmhurst.

Too deep for a motorized pull-down, so a manual model went up, springs tuned to the TV.
