Soundbar mount finder
Whether the bar bolts to the TV or to the wall depends on how your TV mount moves. This gets that right first, then the clearance and the cable.
A soundbar bracket is a small part that is easy to get wrong in one specific way: a bar fixed to the wall under a full-motion TV gets left behind every time you pull the screen out. So the first question is how your TV moves, and only then which bracket.
Which bracket for which TV mount
| TV mount | Soundbar bracket | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed | On the wall | Nothing moves; a wall bracket is the steadiest. |
| Tilting | Either, with clearance | The bottom edge swings back — leave about 3" of clearance. |
| Full motion | On the TV | The bar has to travel with the screen. |
Spacing and the remote sensor
Leave about 2" between the bottom of the TV and the top of the bar. Many TVs have the remote sensor in the bottom bezel, and a tall bar tight under the screen blocks it.
For the cable, eARC is the one to use: a single HDMI cable into the TV's ARC/eARC port carries full-quality audio including Dolby Atmos and lets the TV remote control the volume.
