TV Mounting in Manhattan Beach, CA

Manhattan Beach packs a lot of house onto small lots: Sand Section parcels under 3,000 square feet, Hill Section homes stepping down toward the water, Tree Section houses west of Sepulveda. Dmytro's South Bay crew plans each TV wall around ocean light, open great rooms and rebuilds still in framing, and most morning requests get a same-day slot.

TV mounting in Manhattan Beach is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for plaster or brick.

Sand Section new builds, Tree Section remodels and rooftop decks

New construction in the Sand Section is usually wood framing with steel moment frames around the big openings. Studs are straight and on 16-inch centers, and many houses were pre-wired with a box behind the planned TV spot — we look for it before cutting anything. Where the TV wall is next to a steel frame, we mount into the wood studs beside it rather than drilling the steel.

Tree Section and Hill Section ranches from the 1950s have plaster in the original rooms and drywall in the additions. Cables go inside the wall with a power kit ($69) in almost every house here — the stud bays are open and the owners expect a clean wall.

Roof decks and outdoor TVs

A TV on a roof deck or a covered patio needs an outdoor-rated screen, a weather-rated mount and stainless hardware — the ocean is a few blocks away. We anchor into framing through the siding or stucco and seal every hole. Outdoor TVs in LA.

Walk streets and big screens

Walk-street homes have no car access at the front door, so an 85-inch TV is carried half a block. Two technicians handle anything from 86 inches up (from $179), and we plan the route before the box comes off the truck.

What this means for your TV wall

Manhattan Beach's median home dates from 1970, but that middle number hides two kinds of wall. The 37.3% built before 1960 are cottages and ranches where plaster often meets a later drywall addition, so we find studs with care. The 7.1% built since 2010 are mostly rebuilds on straight lumber, many with a media box already framed in. Because 65.9% of homes are detached houses, most TV walls are wood-framed and open for in-wall cables, and building paperwork rarely holds a job up.

Rebuilding in Manhattan Beach? Call us before the drywall

Most work in the coastal zone needs a Coastal Development Permit, and the 1990 zoning revision held most lots to two stories, so a rebuild here fits the great room, den and primary suite into a tight envelope. That makes the TV wall worth deciding early. Call while the studs are bare and Dmytro walks the room with you or your builder, sets the screen height from the sofa line (try our height tool) and marks blocking and a recessed box. Low-voltage cables then run through that box, and power comes from a listed in-wall kit or an outlet your electrician adds, never the TV's own cord pushed through the wall. After paint we hang the mount on solid wood and pull-test it at twice the TV's weight. Finished house? In-wall concealment still works in most open stud bays.

Ocean light, June gloom and where the screen should face

The view is why people live west of Sepulveda, and it is also the screen's main rival. Hill Section houses step down the slope toward the water, so the living room usually has one wall of glass; we hang the TV beside the windows rather than facing them and add a little tilt. Sand Section rooms are narrower and often open onto a deck, where a full-motion arm lets one screen serve the sofa and the kitchen island. On an arm near a slider we set the stops so it cannot swing into the glass, as FEMA's earthquake guide advises. May and June mornings are often grey under the marine layer, which flatters any TV, so judge the spot again in late afternoon, when the sky clears and the sun comes in low. Tilting mounts start at $49.

On-site notes from Manhattan Beach jobs

  • Sand Section parking is tight in summer — a driveway spot or alley access helps.
  • Many new builds have a recessed media box already in the wall; we check with a stud finder and camera before cutting.
  • Outdoor TVs facing west get hard afternoon sun — we pick shaded walls where we can.

TV mounting in Manhattan Beach, CA: common questions

Can you mount a TV on a roof deck in Manhattan Beach?
Yes, with an outdoor-rated TV, a weather-rated mount and stainless hardware.
Can you hide the wires inside the wall?
In most Manhattan Beach homes, yes — $69 per TV with a UL-listed power kit.
Do you mount 85 and 98-inch TVs?
Yes. Up to 85 inches is $129; 86 inches and larger start at $179 with two technicians.
Can you plan the TV while my house is still being framed?
Yes, and it is the easiest moment to get it right. Dmytro meets you or your builder on site, marks the height, blocking and a recessed box, then returns after paint to hang the TV. Send a request with your framing date.
We rent in the Sand Section. Can the TV go up without in-wall work?
Usually, yes. With your landlord's okay we mount into the studs and run the cables in a slim raceway painted to match, which comes off cleanly when you move. A photo of the wall and outlet lets us confirm the plan before we come.
Can you add a soundbar under the TV in our great room?
Yes. Most bars go on their own bracket right below the screen, with the cables run in the same wall as the TV's. It adds about 30 minutes, or about 45 with the wires hidden, and the mounting is $69.
