TV Mounting in Fullerton, CA

Fullerton's population quadrupled between 1950 and 1960, filling Sunny Hills and Raymond Hills with ranch houses while Craftsman blocks near Harbor Boulevard kept their plaster. Oleh's crew works out of North Orange County, so a morning request often becomes an afternoon visit, priced flat before we drill.

Downtown's old houses, hillside homes and student apartments

Older homes near downtown and in Raymond Hills have lath and plaster. We find the studs behind the lath with test holes, drill with the hammer off and use a painted backer if the studs are off center. Mounts for plaster.

Sunny Hills and Golden Hills homes from the 1960s–70s are wood frame with stone or brick fireplaces and open living rooms; Amerige Heights is newer drywall with straight studs and often pre-wiring. Cables go inside the wall ($69) in almost every house.

Student rentals near CSUF

Renters need small, patchable holes and no cut drywall. A slim fixed mount into two studs and a paintable raceway ($39) is the usual answer. Best mounts for apartments.

Downtown restaurants and brick walls

Downtown's brick buildings host bars and restaurants with screens over the bar. We drill the brick face — never the mortar — set sleeve anchors and run cables in a raceway along the brick. Brick and stone.

What this means for your TV wall

Median year built here is 1969, and 40.6% of homes date from 1960–79, the years of wood-frame ranches with brick or stone fireplaces and regular stud layouts. Another 30.7% predate 1960, which is where we meet plaster and old paint, so we cut small and never sand. With 48.2% of households renting, plenty of jobs end with a raceway that comes off at move-out rather than an opening in the wall.

Sunny Hills and Raymond Hills: the postwar fireplace wall

In the houses built during Fullerton's postwar boom, the fireplace wall is where the TV debate starts: nine of our 30+ installs here went over one. Before choosing a height, Oleh checks what the surround really is. A solid stone or brick face takes sleeve anchors in sound material, while a thin stone veneer gets bolts through to the framing behind it, because veneer is not structure. If the logs burn gas, he runs them and measures the wall above the firebox; when it reads too warm, the screen goes higher on a tilting mount ($49) angled down toward the sofa. The Puente Hills thrust system runs under the city, so every plate goes into studs, brick or stone, never drywall alone, and gets pulled at twice the TV's weight. More on how we handle these walls on our fireplace mounting service page.

Downtown plaster, new apartments and CSUF leases

The Housing Element notes that over half of Fullerton's homes predate 1970, the group most likely to carry lead paint in poor shape. Near Harbor Boulevard and in Richman Park that changes how we hide wires: two small openings, no sanding, a HEPA vacuum, and a switch to a painted raceway if a cut would disturb more paint than a minor repair. The in-wall run uses a listed power kit; the TV's power cord itself never goes inside the wall. The new rental buildings are the opposite case. City Pointe, built on a former city lot downtown, and Atlas Fullerton, rising on part of the Town Center at Orangethorpe and Lemon, bring fresh drywall and leasing offices that want paperwork; in most cases we send a certificate of insurance the same day. Students near campus usually get a removable raceway ($39) that leaves the drywall whole.

Sunny Hills ranch house

  • 75-inch

TV mounting in Fullerton, CA: common questions

I rent near Cal State Fullerton — can I mount a TV?
Usually, with your landlord's OK. Small holes in two studs and a removable raceway.
Can you mount on plaster in an old Fullerton house?
Yes — studs found through the lath and careful drilling, at the drywall price.
How much does TV mounting cost in Fullerton?
$119 up to 60 inches, $129 up to 85 inches, no travel fee.
Do you mount TVs in downtown Fullerton bars and restaurants?
Yes — screens level in a row over the bar, anchored into brick or steel studs, with power and HDMI in one raceway, installed before opening.
Is my Sunny Hills fireplace stone real or veneer?
Oleh taps the face and checks the edges and the firebox opening before drilling. Solid stone or brick takes anchors in sound pieces; veneer stone is decorative, so the bolts go through it into the framing. Either way the plate is shimmed to sit flat on an uneven face.
Can you come the same day in Fullerton?
Often, yes. The crew is based between Fullerton and Anaheim, and about 2 in 3 requests that reach us before noon get a slot that day. Send the TV size and a photo of the wall through the quote form and we confirm a flat price first.
Can I put a TV on my patio in Fullerton?
Yes, under a solid patio cover. August highs at the Fullerton airport average 86.7°F, so we look at where the afternoon sun lands before choosing a shade or partial-sun model, and every outdoor job gets stainless hardware. Expect about two and a half hours.
