DeSoto sits at the southern edge of Dallas County, where 1980s and 1990s brick houses share the map with new two-story builds near I-35E and I-20. We plan each TV around how you use the room, test the fireplace before drilling, and can often come same day at a flat price.
TV mounting in DeSoto is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or brick.
Brick family homes have drywall on wood studs and a brick fireplace in the family room. We drill the brick face with a rotary hammer and set sleeve anchors — never the mortar — after checking the heat. Brick and stone.
Open stud bays in most homes make hiding cables inside the wall ($69) quick, and newer homes in Summit Ridge often have pre-wired boxes.
75 to 98-inch TVs with a soundbar on its own bracket ($69) are the standard DeSoto setup. From 86 inches we send two technicians ($179). Soundbars under a TV.
Additional TVs in the same visit start at $40; we plan the order so the masonry and in-wall work is done first.
21,718 homes and about 56,211 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
About 43.5% of DeSoto homes went up during the 1980s and 1990s, and 73.6% are detached houses, so the usual TV wall here is drywall over wood studs, often across from a brick fireplace. Older homes are rare, so plaster and lath barely come up. Because 41.4% of households heat mainly with utility gas, plenty of those fireplaces run gas logs, and we read the surface temperature at the planned screen height before marking anything.
DeSoto work splits into two kinds of jobs. In houses from the 1980s and 1990s, around Thorntree and Westmoreland Estates, the family room usually centers on a full brick fireplace with a wide mantel. Bohdan runs the fireplace for twenty minutes, takes a reading where the screen will hang and only then drills; if it reads too hot, the TV moves to the framed wall beside the chimney. That test opens every fireplace TV job we do.
Newer two-story homes, like those First Texas Homes markets near I-35E and I-20, bring other questions: tall family rooms, builder pre-wire boxes in odd spots and upstairs game rooms over the garage. Before we arrive, measure from sofa to wall and try our height tool; a screen hung at the builder's outlet often ends up too high for the couch.

Several DeSoto subdivisions, including Summit Parks and Westmoreland Estates, carry HOA dues, so a patio TV or an exterior cable cover may need the association's sign-off first; indoor TVs almost never do. Send the HOA's rule sheet with your request.
A new outlet behind the screen is electrical work, and that belongs to a licensed electrician who pulls a permit through the City of DeSoto Building Inspections division. We never push the TV's own power cord through the wall or bury it in a raceway with the HDMI. Instead we use a listed in-wall power kit that plugs into the outlet you already have, or, in rentals and on brick, a paintable raceway for the video cables ($39); our raceway guide shows how it looks. Book through the quote page and Bohdan can often reach you the same afternoon.

The builder's box sat far left of the sofa; Bohdan cut in a listed in-wall power kit behind the screen and capped the old opening.

The lease allowed small holes only, so Bohdan used two studs and a paintable raceway that comes off at move-out.
