Mesquite went from a railroad farm town to a full suburb after 1950, and its houses show it: 1940s frame cottages in Sherwood Forest, 1950s homes in Mesquite Park, new builds in Solterra. Bohdan, who leads our North Dallas crew, can usually mount your TV the same day at a flat price.
TV mounting in Mesquite is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or brick.
Ranch homes have brick exteriors, wood studs inside and a brick fireplace in the den. We drill the brick face — never the mortar — set sleeve anchors and check the heat before hanging the TV above the firebox. Brick and stone.
Creek Crossing and Falcon's Lair homes from the 1990s–2000s are drywall on 16-inch studs with open bays — cables go inside the wall ($69).
$119 for a TV up to 60 inches, $129 up to 85 inches, mounts from $39. Brick costs the same as drywall, and there's no travel fee. How TV mounting prices work.
Wood-paneled dens need a test hole to find studs behind the paneling. Garage and shop TVs go high and away from the door; walls may be bare studs or block, so we look first.
53,953 homes and about 149,299 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Mesquite's median home was built in 1983, and 44.0% of its housing went up between 1980 and 1999, so the typical TV wall here is drywall on wood studs behind a brick exterior. With 70.7% of homes detached houses, most of our visits are dens and family rooms. Mesquite Park and Sherwood Forest are the exception: homes from the 1940s and 1950s, with horizontal blocking, many coats of paint and, in Sherwood Forest, frame walls clad in siding.
Mesquite's city limits covered less than one square mile in 1950 and 20.6 square miles by 1960, and houses from that sprint are still here. The city's Sherwood Forest plan describes most older homes there as small woodframe units with siding, and their walls often hide horizontal blocking at mid-height, so Bohdan plans the cable path before he cuts and keeps to small openings he patches the same visit. Mesquite Park filled in through the 1950s and early 1960s. When a living room there has a brick fireplace, we light it first, read the surface where the TV would hang and only then mark anchor holes in solid brick rather than the joints. Paint in houses this age can predate 1978, so we drill with a vacuum at the bit and never sand. Details: fireplace TV installation.

Mesquite is strict about electrical work, stricter than many homeowners expect. Its building inspection summary says every electrical installation or repair must be done by a Texas electrical contractor licensed with the City of Mesquite, with a rough-in inspection before insulation and sheetrock, and it lists no homeowner exemption. The city has run on the 2023 National Electrical Code with local amendments since January 2025. So a new receptacle behind the screen is your electrician's visit, not ours. What we do the same day: mount the TV, run HDMI and other low-voltage lines, and either fit a listed in-wall power kit that plugs into your existing outlet ($69) or set a paintable raceway for the signal cables ($39). An in-wall run adds about 30 minutes in an open stud bay. The TV's own power cord never goes inside the wall. See our cable concealment service.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Old horizontal blocking crossed the bay under layers of paint; Bohdan kept to two small openings and fished the run past it.

The builder's low-voltage box sat off the sofa's line, so Bohdan cut in a listed in-wall kit where the screen hangs.
