Weymouth Heights 1920s cottage
Test holes inside the plate's outline found both studs; old paint meant a dust shroud and no sanding, and the cables went into paintable raceway.

Southern Pines splits into two kinds of TV walls: 1920s Weymouth Heights homes, where plaster and the town's historic district rules shape the job, and the newer streets of Highland Trails, Forest Creek and Mid South Club, built on drywall. Tymofii drives in from our Fuquay-Varina base, often the same day, with a flat price quoted before he drills.
TV mounting in Southern Pines is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Older cottages and Weymouth homes have plaster or board walls. We find the framing, drill slowly and patch every test hole. Studs behind plaster.
Newer homes and golf communities are drywall on wood studs; lag bolts into two studs and cables inside the wall ($69). Drywall guide.
Officer families moving in or out take TVs down ($49 each) and put them up again; we check old mounts fit the new TVs. Will your mount fit?.
Porches get outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware; cottage living rooms often get a Samsung Frame. Outdoor TVs, Frame TVs.
8,620 homes and about 16,420 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Much of the housing here is young: the median home was built in 1996 and 33.7% of units date from 2010 or later, so most TV walls we open are drywall on wood studs, some framed 24 inches apart. The older end is smaller: 14.4% were built before 1960, including the resort-era streets around Weymouth Heights, where plaster on wood lath and old paint call for test holes and a dust shroud. Tell us your build year.
Weymouth Heights was laid out in the resort years by a landscape architect, with a hotel planned beside it, and many of its houses date to the 1920s. The town keeps a local historic district, and its Historic District Commission issues certificates of appropriateness for exterior construction and alteration. For a TV, that draws a clear line. A screen on a living-room wall is interior work and needs no review. A porch TV or a new cable hole through the siding is exterior, so check the design guidelines or call the town first.
Plaster from the 1920s usually sits on wood lath, since rock lath only took over in the late 1930s. Tymofii drills test holes inside the bracket's footprint and works on pre-1978 paint with a dust shroud on the drill, never sanding it. If the lath crumbles, cables go into paintable raceway ($39). See our plaster mount guide.

Highland Trails, near Weymouth Woods Nature Preserve, is still adding homes from local builders, and Forest Creek and Mid South Club wrap their streets around golf courses. Walls there are drywall on wood studs, but about one in five TV walls we open in post-2000 houses is framed 24 inches on center, so we bring plates wide enough to reach two studs.
Hidden cables use a listed in-wall power kit that plugs into the outlet below the TV; the TV's own cord never runs inside the wall. Sandhills fireplaces are often electric inserts or sealed fireboxes, sometimes gas; whatever the fuel, we run a 20-minute heat test at full output before marking the height. If the reading pushes the TV higher, a tilting mount at $49 keeps the picture aimed at the sofa. Send wall photos with your request.

The studs sat 24 inches apart, so we used a wide plate across two of them; a second technician helped with the lift.

We ran the insert's heater on high for the 20-minute test, then anchored into the framing behind the chase.
