Cottage in the Village historic district
The easy cable path ran out through the siding. Tymofii fished it inside an interior wall instead, so the exterior stayed untouched.

Pinehurst homes come in two kinds: Olmsted-planned cottages on the curving streets near the Village center, and golf-course houses in Pinewild, Forest Creek and Pinehurst No. 6, many with a lanai on the fairway. Tymofii drives down from our Fuquay-Varina base, often the same day, mounts the TV and hides the wires.
TV mounting in Pinehurst is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Historic cottages in the Village have old plaster and board walls. We find the framing, drill slowly and patch every test hole. Studs behind plaster.
Golf-course homes have great rooms with fireplaces that set the TV high; a pull-down mount ($99) brings it to eye level. Pull-down mounts.
Covered lanais and patios get outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware, angled away from the afternoon glare. Outdoor TVs.
We set the height for the chair you use and add a soundbar ($69) for clearer dialogue. Ideal TV height, soundbars and shelves.
9,540 homes and about 18,256 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

With 84.0% of Pinehurst homes detached, nearly every visit is a house, not a condo, so in-wall cable runs are usually possible. The big middle of the stock, 40.6%, went up between 1980 and 1999: wood-framed golf-course houses with drywall great rooms and often a fireplace chase. Only 4.7% predate 1960, and many of those sit in the historic Village, where plaster and board walls need slower drilling and careful test holes.
Olmsted, Olmsted and Eliot laid out the Village in 1895, and its core is now a National Historic Landmark District of about 250 acres holding 417 resources. Cottages sit 36 feet back on curving streets, and exterior changes there go through the Pinehurst Historic Preservation Commission. A TV on an inside wall is not an exterior change, so most cottage jobs need nothing filed. What we watch is the cable route: a fresh hole through siding or trim shows from the street, so Tymofii looks for an attic, closet or crawl-space path first. Any test holes we drill land inside the bracket's footprint, hidden once the plate goes up. Walls change from room to room, plaster in one and wide boards in the next, and in pre-1978 houses we drill only anchor and cable holes, with a dust shroud.

Pinewild, Forest Creek, Pinehurst No. 6 and the streets around Lake Pinehurst are mostly wood-framed, and their drywall makes hidden wiring simple. Our cable concealment uses a listed in-wall power kit plugged into the outlet below the TV ($69); the TV's own cord never goes inside the wall. Many Sandhills fireplaces we meet are electric inserts or sealed fireboxes, and every one still gets a 20-minute heat test at full output before we pick a height. If the reading runs hot, the TV goes higher on a tilt or onto the wall beside the hearth. A 75-inch screen brings a second technician. Out back, a lanai takes an outdoor-rated set at least 3 feet in from the open side, turned off the afternoon sun; see outdoor TV installation. Owners in Southern Pines get the same crew and the same schedule.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Anchors went into the block webs, never a mortar joint, with a sealed entry and drip loop. We flagged the outlet's missing in-use cover.

The insert's heater ran on high for the 20-minute test first; a second technician helped lift, and power ran through a listed in-wall kit.
