Great room off Owen
The mantel ran past the 16 inches a motorized model clears, so we fitted a manual one rated for 18 and tuned the springs.

Governors Club spreads across Edwards Mountain behind a gate, on streets named for North Carolina counties, where custom houses, more than 70 of them by architect Keith Shaw, open onto great rooms with stone gas fireplaces. Tymofii and the west Cary crew bring mounts, anchors and cables, often the same day you book.
TV mounting in Governors Club is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Stone fireplaces in vaulted rooms are uneven and set the TV high. We anchor through the stone into the structure and suggest a pull-down mount ($99) when the height is too much. Stone and uneven surfaces.
Media rooms get large screens on heavy-duty mounts with every cable inside the wall ($69). 85-inch TVs.
A pull-down mount keeps the TV above the mantel and brings it to eye level for watching. Pull-down mounts.
Covered terraces get outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware, angled away from the afternoon glare, and a soundbar if you want one. Outdoor TVs, soundbars and shelves.
823 homes and about 1,787 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

All homes here are detached houses (100.0%), and 43.5% were built in the 2000s, so TV walls are mostly drywall on wood framing; in houses that new, about 1 in 5 walls we open turn out framed 24 inches on center, and we size the plate to reach two studs. With 83.7% of homes heated by utility gas, the fireplace under your TV likely burns gas too, so we run a heat test first.
Most houses here have two TV rooms that call for different work. The great room usually centers on a stone gas fireplace, so we run a 20-minute burn and read the surface where the screen's bottom edge will sit before choosing a tilt, a spot beside the hearth or a pull-down mount ($99 for assembly). Stone veneer never carries the load; our bolts reach the framing behind it. More on heat and height in our fireplace guide. Theater rooms are where we built our Governors Club 2x2 video wall, and they tend to want screens of 75 inches and up, which always come with a second technician. A new outlet behind that screen is an electrician's job, done before we arrive; a TV power cord never runs inside the wall or a raceway with the cables.

Three details make a visit here smooth. The gate: put entry instructions or a guest pass in your request so nobody waits at the gatehouse. The association: the property owners' association enforces exterior conformity, so clear a terrace TV, or any cable leaving the house, with it before we drill; rooms indoors need nothing from them. The sound: about a third of our jobs in this community add a soundbar, nearly always for clearer dialogue in big, high-ceilinged rooms. We hang it under the screen on its own bracket and connect it by HDMI eARC so one remote runs both (soundbar mounting, $69). Neighbors nearby in Fearrington Village ask for exactly the same. Book a morning and a single TV with a bar is usually finished before lunch. Same-day slots are often open, too.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

An electrician had added a dedicated circuit; we aligned the seams and ran HDMI, network and control cable to the controller.

Studs sat 24 inches apart, so the plate spans two; the soundbar went on its own bracket below for clearer dialogue.

One price list for Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and out to Pinehurst and Fayetteville — the wall type does not change the price, and neither does the drive. Oakwood plaster, stacked-stone fireplaces and downtown concrete are billed exactly like drywall.
