Del Mar mixes 1960s and 70s view houses on the Olde Del Mar hillsides, custom homes and estates on the Del Mar Heights mesas, and beach houses along Ocean Front. Oleksandr covers it on our coastal North County days, and requests sent before noon often get a same-day slot.
TV mounting in Del Mar is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stucco or concrete.
Beach and hillside homes are wood-framed with stucco or shingle outside, drywall and wood inside, and walls of glass facing west. We plan the TV on a wall away from the glass, mount into two studs and strap articulating arms for earthquakes. Hiding cables.
Decks over the sand get outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware and sealed cable entries, under a solid cover and angled away from the sunset glare. Outdoor TVs.
In rooms designed around the ocean, the Samsung Frame is the default: flush to the wall, art mode on, one thin cable inside ($69). Frame TVs.
A full-motion mount ($69) lets the TV turn toward the sofa for a game and fold flat when the view is the show. Tilt vs. swivel.
2,550 homes and about 3,903 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.
53% owner-occupied · 47% rented
U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Del Mar's median home was built in 1971, and 46.0% of its housing dates from 1960 to 1979, so most TV walls we meet are wood studs and drywall broken up by big west-facing windows. Fireplaces in houses that age get a heat check before we pick a height. With 46.8% of homes rented, we often plan for tenants: only lag holes hidden behind the plate, or a painted raceway that needs no patching later.
Each summer the Fairgrounds hosts the San Diego County Fair and then the horse races. Our van comes down I-5 from San Marcos to the Via de la Valle exits, where a 2012 settlement added traffic control on fair and race days. The Fairgrounds' coastal permit holds daily parking demand to its roughly 10,350 on-site spaces, yet the exit lines still build before the gates open. In summer we try to book Del Mar early in the morning. Off-season, a midweek afternoon works just as well. When you send the request, tell us where the van can park and whether there are steps up from the street, common on hillside lots. Hosting a race-day party? Book the mount a few days ahead, and add a soundbar for $69 while Oleksandr is there. Check your seating with the height tool first.

Caltrans classifies anything within 1000 ft of the ocean as a marine corrosive exposure, which takes in the Beach Colony, Ocean Front and the blocks just above them. Outdoor TVs there get 316 stainless hardware throughout, and on marine-layer mornings the sealant gets extra time before the screen goes up. On the Del Mar Heights mesas the bigger issue is the low western sun, so we pick a brighter screen and a solid cover; see our outdoor TV service. Indoors, the side wall by the fireplace is often the only one without glass. We test the heat with the gas on, and when the mantel is tall a tilting mount ($49) angles the picture down. Cables run in the wall through a listed power kit fed from your existing outlet; the TV's own cord never goes inside. Solana Beach is on the same route.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Oleksandr ran the gas logs for 20 minutes before marking the height, then set the TV higher on a tilting mount.

A few blocks from the surf, so all hardware is 316 stainless; on a foggy morning the cable-entry sealant got extra time to cure.
