Dunn has two kinds of TV homes: brick ranches and older houses around Broad Street from the 1950s to the 1970s, and new drywall builds in Cameron Crossing, Avery Chase and Gleneagles off I-95. Tymofii drives down from our Fuquay-Varina base, often the same day, with one flat price before he drills.
TV mounting in Dunn is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Brick houses usually have a brick fireplace wall. We check the heat and drill into solid brick with sleeve anchors, never the mortar joints. Brick vs. stone veneer.
Older homes downtown have plaster or plank walls; we find the framing and mount into it. Studs behind plaster.
Newer subdivisions are drywall on wood studs: lag bolts into two studs, cables inside the wall ($69). Old mounts from the last move are checked before reuse. Drywall guide, will your mount fit?.

4,229 homes and about 8,559 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

Dunn's median home dates to 1973, and 36.8% of its housing went up between 1960 and 1979, so the typical TV wall here is a ranch den: drywall or paneling on wood studs, often beside a brick fireplace, in a house old enough for lead paint. With 46.0% of homes rented, many jobs also come with a landlord's rules about holes, which is why removable raceway and a clean move-out patch matter as much as the mount.
Most Dunn homes Tymofii works in are ranches built as the town filled in around downtown. The TV usually wants the den, and the den wall is often brick around gas logs. Every fireplace job starts with a 20-minute burn at full flame and a reading where the bottom of the screen will sit; about 1 in 7 readings come in too hot, and the TV moves up on a tilting mount ($49) or beside the fireplace. Anchors go into the brick faces, never the mortar. Brick dust and paneling are why most of these visits run about an hour and a half. These ranches also hide two surprises. Some still have a two-prong outlet at the TV spot, and we stop there for an electrician. Many sit over a crawl space, which lets us drop cables through the floor instead of cutting paneling.

Near the I-95 exits, Dunn is adding whole streets at a time: Dream Finders Homes in Cameron Crossing, Smith Douglas Homes in Avery Chase, and new houses around Gleneagles, which includes a 55-and-over community. These are wood-stud drywall walls, but about 1 in 5 of the newer walls we open are framed 24 inches apart instead of 16, so we confirm two studs before a big screen goes up, and a second technician joins for anything 75 inches or larger. Retirees often ask for clearer dialogue; a soundbar adds about half an hour. Nearly half of Dunn rents, and Fort Bragg families rotate in and out on orders. For them we keep holes few, run HDMI in a removable channel and come back at move-out for a dismount and patch. Neighbors in Erwin and Fayetteville book the same crew.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Builder framing turned out to be 24 inches on center, so Tymofii used a wide-plate mount that still caught two studs, with a second technician for the lift.

The lease allowed studs only in a pre-1978 house, so Tymofii drilled just the anchor holes with a dust shroud and ran HDMI in removable raceway.
