Bungalow off Dry Avenue
A test opening showed plaster too thick for a recessed box, so the cables went down a paintable raceway beside the window trim.

Downtown Cary packs three kinds of homes into a few blocks around the Arts Center: railroad-era bungalows in the National Register district, mid-century ranches on the side streets, and new condos and townhomes on Academy and Chatham. Tymofii's west Cary crew can usually come the same day, at a flat price.
TV mounting in Downtown Cary is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
New townhomes and condos are drywall on wood studs over a concrete podium, with shared walls. Studs on your side, nothing opened in a fire-rated wall. Mounting in an apartment.
Older houses and ranches can have plaster or early drywall. We confirm the studs before drilling and patch any test holes. Studs behind plaster.
Townhome living rooms run into the kitchen; a full-motion arm ($69) turns the TV to either side. Tilt vs. swivel.
Where a shared wall cannot be opened, a slim raceway ($39) painted the wall color hides the cables. A Frame TV makes the wall look like a gallery. Raceways without cutting, Frame TVs.
14,557 homes and about 33,221 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure. Census figures for ZIP Code 27511 — there is no separate Census boundary for Downtown Cary.
The 27511 area is older than most of Cary: the median home was built in 1982, and 40.3% date from 1960 to 1979. Many TV walls are early drywall or paneling on wood studs, often beside a brick fireplace, while only 4.1% predate 1960, so plaster bungalows are rare but slow to drill. With 46.7% of homes heated mainly by utility gas, a gas fireplace under the TV is common, and the heat test comes first.
Between South Academy Street, Dry Avenue and West Park Street, the historic district holds about thirty houses from roughly 1890 to 1945, when Cary was a railroad village. Their walls are usually plaster on wood lath, so Tymofii drills a test hole inside the bracket's footprint first. On plaster near downtown about 1 in 3 of our hidden-cable jobs end in a paintable raceway, when the plaster won't hold a recessed box. In houses built before 1978 we drill only the anchor and cable holes, with a dust shroud, and never sand painted trim. Exterior changes on locally designated properties need a Certificate of Appropriateness; our work stays inside, and if a run would need a new hole through the siding, we stop and you check with the town first. Our plaster guide explains the anchors.

Most of our downtown visits are in the Russell Hills ranches and the 1970s houses off Walnut Street: drywall or paneling on wood studs, often with a brick fireplace in the den. Those fireplaces mostly burn gas, so every fireplace TV starts with a 20-minute burn at full output and a reading where the TV's bottom edge will sit. If it reads hot, the screen goes higher on a tilt or onto the wall beside the hearth. Anchors go into the brick faces, never the mortar joints, the same way we work the bigger dens of Kildaire Farms. The condos and townhomes along Academy and Chatham are quicker, about 50 minutes for one TV on drywall. If you want the wires gone, the TV's power cord never goes inside the wall: we fit a listed in-wall power kit fed from the outlet below, from $69.

The 20-minute burn read warm just above the mantel, so Tymofii raised the plate and tilted the screen down toward the sofa.

The long living-room wall is shared with the next unit, so the arm went on an interior wall, with the soundbar on its own bracket below.
