Collins Crossing two-bedroom
A 1970s building, so Danylo drilled only two anchor holes under a dust shroud and used landlord-approved raceway.

Carrboro homes split two ways for a TV wall: 1970s and 1980s garden apartments along Jones Ferry Road, and older frame houses in Mill Village near Carr Mill Mall. Danylo and our Durham crew handle both with lease-friendly hardware, usually the same day, at a flat price agreed before we drill.
TV mounting in Carrboro is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Old mill houses have plaster or plank walls on wood framing. We find the framing and mount into it, never the finish alone. Studs behind plaster.
Apartments and townhomes are drywall on wood studs with shared walls. Studs on your side, a removable raceway ($39). Mounting in an apartment.
If drilling is not allowed, a floor stand or a no-drill option can work; we will tell you honestly which TVs it suits. Without drilling, renter-friendly cables.
In a small apartment a full-motion arm ($69) turns the TV toward the sofa, the desk or the kitchen. Tilt vs. swivel.
10,189 homes and about 21,204 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.
44% owner-occupied · 56% rented

Carrboro is mostly a renters' town: 56.5% of homes are rented, and 30.8% sit in buildings of 5 to 19 units, the garden-apartment blocks along Jones Ferry Road. For a TV that means wood-stud drywall, a neighbor behind at least one wall and a lease to read first. With 43.6% of homes built between 1980 and 1999, most walls are easy, but anything older than 1978 gets our lead-safe drilling routine, explained below.
Collins Crossing at 501 Jones Ferry Road shows the pattern: 268 units of 840 to 1,150 square feet, built in phases from 1971 to 1985. Rooms that size leave one sensible TV wall in the living room, and it is often the one shared with the next unit. Most of these living rooms suit a 55-inch or 65-inch screen on a tilting mount. We read the lease and the building's rules before the van leaves Durham, anchor into two studs, and keep cables in a paintable baseboard raceway ($39) rather than opening drywall you do not own. The 1970s phases get our pre-1978 paint routine: anchor holes only, a dust shroud on the drill, no scraping. When the lease ends, book a take-down and patch ($49) before the move-out walk-through. Carr Mill Mall was a working textile mill, nearly demolished in the 1970s before residents pushed to save it, and the Carrboro Commercial Historic District around it counts 12 contributing buildings. The streets near downtown, Mill Village among them, keep small frame houses, some from the 1940s and listed as UNC off-campus rentals. A 1947 house most likely has plaster on gypsum rock lath, which drills cleaner than wood lath, so Danylo makes one test hole inside the bracket's footprint, finds the studs and anchors through the plaster into wood. About 1 in 8 pre-1960 houses we visit still have a two-prong outlet at the TV spot; we stop there, and a licensed electrician fits the new one. Our cable concealment page explains in-wall and raceway routes, and the TV power cord never goes inside the wall without a listed in-wall power kit.

Studs sat 24 inches apart, so Danylo and a second technician used a wide plate spanning two of them.
