Plantation splits in two for a TV: block ranch houses and 1980s–90s family subdivisions on shady streets, and a new apartment district rising in Midtown along University Drive. Marian, our Broward technician, works both every week and can usually mount your TV the same day at a flat price.
TV mounting in Plantation is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for concrete block.
Original ranch homes in Plantation Park and Plantation Isles are concrete block with plaster or drywall on furring, and wood-framed interior walls. Exterior walls get sleeve anchors in the block; interior partitions get lag bolts into studs.
Remodeled homes often have a newer framed TV wall or a knocked-out wall with a steel beam above — we scan for both before choosing where the plate goes.
Jacaranda and Lauderdale West mix single-family homes with 1980s condos: block and concrete with association rules on alterations.
Enclosed Florida rooms were once the outside of the house, so the TV wall there is usually block. Screened patios facing the pool get outdoor-rated screens and stainless hardware — mounting an outdoor TV.
Framed TV walls are ideal for in-wall power ($69); block walls get a paintable raceway ($39) — hiding TV wires in the wall.
Plantation living rooms tend to be wide with lower 8-foot ceilings. A 75-inch TV fits, but the center should stay near 42 inches from the floor; we use a low-profile mount so it does not dominate the room, and a soundbar on its own bracket for clearer dialogue.
The 1980s condos here are block and concrete with associations that prefer surface cable management. We run a slim paintable raceway and anchor into the block — no in-wall work in shared walls.
40,014 homes and about 96,293 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Plantation's median home was built in 1984, and 45.3% of units date from 1980–99, so most living rooms we open have block outside walls and wood-framed partitions inside, which suits hidden cords. Meanwhile 23.8% of homes sit in buildings of 20 or more units, including the new Midtown apartments and older condos, where the TV wall is often shared with a neighbor and the lease or board decides what we may cut or drill.
Plantation's newest homes are rentals. Plantation Midtown Square opened with 480 apartments and 86 townhomes, One Plantation added 321 units around 2013, and Merrimac Plantation broke ground on two six-story buildings next to Midtown on University Drive. Plantation City Center, approved for 512 residences at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd., will add more. In buildings like these the interior walls we meet are usually metal studs behind drywall, with poured concrete at the core and outside walls. Ask your property manager two questions: are holes allowed, and is the TV wall shared with a neighbor? If the wall is shared or cutting is off-limits, we keep everything on the surface: snap-toggles spread across two studs, a raceway painted to the wall, nothing opened. Our apartment mounting guide lists what to show the landlord. Mounting a 61–85-inch screen is $129.

Nearly half of Plantation was built between 1980 and 1999, in communities such as Sawgrass Plantation, Hawks Landing and the Lago Mar and Jacaranda country clubs. Outside walls are block, inside walls are wood studs, and the sofa usually faces an interior wall, which makes these homes our best candidates for hidden cables. Marian checks the stud bay first, because builders of this era often nailed a fire block halfway up; a flexible bit gets through it without opening the drywall. The TV's own power cord never travels inside the wall: we install a listed in-wall power kit, or your electrician adds an outlet behind the screen. Soundbars usually get their own bracket ($69); our cable concealment service page lists every option. Pick the height first with our TV height tool. Living in Sunrise next door? Same crew, same day.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

No cutting allowed: snap-toggles across two steel studs and a raceway painted to the wall, removable at move-out.

Anchors went into the webs of the hollow block, clear of mortar joints, so the arm swings freely.
