Memorial City high-rise rental
The building required our certificate of insurance first. Taras used metal-stud toggles on the partition and a short paintable raceway to the outlet.

Memorial stretches from Memorial Park's 1,500 acres past the Memorial City towers, with 1950s Memorial Forest ranches and Village estates in between. One street needs a stud finder, the next a certificate of insurance. Taras's Energy Corridor crew is a short drive west, so same-day visits here are common.
TV mounting in Memorial is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick or stone.
New custom homes in Piney Point and Hunters Creek have 12 to 20-foot family rooms with a stone or cast-stone fireplace, a media room upstairs and a covered outdoor living area. We check the blocking behind the builder's TV location, the heat above the firebox and the pre-wire before anything goes up. TVs over fireplaces.
Ranch houses from the 50s and 60s are wood studs, drywall and often a brick fireplace wall that runs the width of the den. On brick we use sleeve anchors in the brick faces, not in the mortar; cables that can't go inside the brick run in a paintable raceway ($39).
Memorial media rooms get 85 to 100-inch screens. Up to 85 inches is $129; 86 inches and larger start at $179 with two technicians and a heavy-duty mount rated well above the TV. Mounts for 85-inch TVs.
Pool houses and covered patios under the pines are the second most common Memorial job. We use outdoor-rated screens, stainless hardware and sealed cable entries against the humidity. Outdoor TVs.
18,870 homes and about 38,288 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

A third of Memorial homes, 33.4%, sit in buildings of 20 or more units, which puts many TV walls on concrete or steel-stud partitions in the Memorial City towers. Another 40.7% were built between 1960 and 1979, so the houses along the bayou often hide fire blocks, braces and older wiring inside the wall. With 36.7% of homes rented, we plan many jobs around lease rules: small holes, raceway and a clean move-out.
The towers around Memorial City changed what a TV job here looks like. The McKinley alone stacks 278 rental units over 25 floors, Metro National counts 870 units across five residential developments, and The Fountains holds 114 penthouses on fourteen floors. In buildings like these the paperwork comes before the drill. Most managers want a certificate of insurance on file, a reserved service elevator and work inside set contractor hours, so send the office contact when you book and Taras handles the rest. Inside, expect concrete columns and steel-stud partitions rather than wood. On a stud partition we use toggles rated for metal studs (see mounting on metal studs); on poured concrete we drill sleeve anchors and hide the wires in raceway, $39. Neighbors in the Galleria towers get the same routine.

Memorial Forest is the other end of the scale: about 280 houses, mostly from the 1950s, on lots that often top 10,000 square feet. Here the TV usually lands on a wide brick fireplace wall or a paneled den. Before anything goes over gas logs, Taras runs a 20-minute burn at full flame and reads the surface where the TV will hang; about 1 in 10 readings moves the screen to a pull-down mount or the side wall. Hiding cables in these houses takes patience, since fire blocks and braces sit in many stud bays. In-wall concealment with a listed power kit runs $69, and the TV cord never travels bare inside the wall. Use our height tool to pick the screen center before the visit, then send a request with photos of the wall.

The gas-log burn test read fine, but the brick was out of plumb. Taras shimmed the plate, anchored into solid brick and tilted the screen down.

The in-wall run met a horizontal brace mid-bay. Taras drilled through it from a small access hole and used a listed in-wall power kit.
