Timarron two-story
The burn test read too warm at the builder's outlet, so Ivan and a second technician lagged a pull-down mount into the chase.

Southlake is mostly 1990s two-story houses, from Timarron's golf-course streets to Carillon's lakes and trails, plus brownstones on Town Square. Our Fort Worth crew is nearby most days, so same-day is realistic: we heat-test the gas logs, measure the tall wall and hang the TV where the sofa sees it.
TV mounting in Southlake is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or brick.
Austin stone fireplaces are usually veneer over a framed chase. We locate the framing behind, drill through the stone faces (never the mortar joints) and shim the mount where the stone is uneven. For tall mantels, a pull-down mount (assembly $99) is the Southlake favorite. MantelMount in Dallas.
Media rooms get 85 to 100-inch screens on heavy-duty mounts, two technicians from 86 inches ($179). Cables go inside the wall to an equipment closet, and we set picture modes before we leave. Mounts for 85-inch TVs.
Covered patios with fireplaces, kitchens and pools want outdoor-rated TVs, weather-rated mounts and stainless hardware; connectors are sealed against humidity and hail. Outdoor TVs.
Shops and restaurants at Southlake Town Square book early-morning installs for displays and menu screens.
9,612 homes and about 31,137 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
The median Southlake home was built in 1997, and 58.3% went up between 1980 and 1999, so most TV walls are wood studs and drywall from the two-story great-room era. Utility gas heats 72.2% of homes, which usually puts a gas-log fireplace exactly where the family wants the screen. Owners here almost always want every cable gone for good; the attached Town Square brownstones, with their shared walls, are the exception, and we plan them differently.
Walk into a family room in Timarron or Stone Lakes and you meet the same layout: a gas-log fireplace on the long wall, a mantel around five feet up and a wall that climbs 16 to 20 feet. The builder's outlet usually sits high, near where a picture would hang. Before Ivan marks a hole, he runs the logs at full output for 20 minutes and reads the surface at the planned spot. About 1 in 3 great-room fireplace customers end up with the screen 12 to 18 inches below that outlet; a reading that comes in too warm points to a pull-down mantel mount (assembly $99) or the side wall. An Austin stone face is veneer, not structure, so the anchors go into the chase framing behind it. Try our height tool to see the angle from the sofa.

The Brownstones on Main Street are attached homes, so the wall an owner wants for the TV is often the one shared with the neighbor. We keep cut-in boxes out of party walls and run a paintable raceway instead, or move the screen to an interior partition where an in-wall kit is fair game. Carillon, out near Highway 114, leans the other way: big covered patios beside the pool, prime outdoor TV territory. There the screen should sit at least four feet back from the open edge of the cover, and the TV's own power cord never goes into the wall; it plugs into the patio's GFCI outlet. Adding a pavilion or cabana first? The city wants accessory structures permitted separately, with plans uploaded through its online EnerGov portal, so we book the mount after the final inspection.

Party walls get no cut-in boxes, so Ivan fastened into two studs and ran a paintable raceway to the outlet.

A shallow cover meant a full-motion arm that folds the screen flat to the brick; stainless hardware, sealed cable entry.
