Country Place ranch
The paint predated 1978, so Bohdan drilled only the anchor holes with a vacuum at the bit; nothing was sanded.

Carrollton is a city the 1970s built: its population nearly tripled that decade, and its brick houses still show it in raised hearths, painted fireplaces and forgotten intercom boxes. Bohdan, who leads our North Dallas crew, knows these walls well. Send a photo, and we can often mount the same day at a flat price.
TV mounting in Carrollton is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or brick.
Indian Creek, Country Place and Josey Ranch homes are brick outside with drywall on wood studs, brick fireplaces and open stud bays; two studs, lag bolts and an in-wall kit ($69).
Townhomes near downtown and Trinity Mills are newer, often with steel-stud interior walls and shared party walls. Steel gets snap-toggles; party walls get a raceway ($39) instead of in-wall cables. Metal studs.
Larger homes in Castle Hills have stone fireplaces, two-story rooms and media rooms. We anchor through stone veneer into framing and use two technicians for screens from 86 inches ($179). Brick and stone.
Korean restaurants, cafes and shops along Old Denton Road use menu screens and TVs over dining rooms. We mount them level, hide cables and schedule before opening.
54,365 homes and about 133,740 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.
58% owner-occupied · 42% rented
U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Census figures show 44.3% of Carrollton homes were built in 1980–99 and another 22.9% in 1960–79, so most TV walls here are wood studs behind drywall that has been painted, patched and rewired for decades. Expect a fire block halfway up the stud bay, an old phone or intercom box, and boom-era brick fireplaces. With 41.5% of homes rented, many of our jobs are apartments near the DART stations, where a raceway beats opening the wall.
Carrollton jumped from 13,855 residents in 1970 to 40,595 in 1980, and the homes built for that rush share a familiar layout. The fireplace is usually brick on a raised hearth, which lifts the mantel and pushes the screen higher than people expect, so try our height tool before choosing a spot. Many of those bricks were painted long ago; if the paint is older than 1978 we drill only what the anchors need. Behind the drywall, builders of that era nailed fire blocks at mid-height and left intercom, chime and phone boxes in odd places. Those leftovers often help us: an empty intercom opening becomes a tidy pass-through for hidden cables. Every fireplace gets a 20-minute burn and a surface reading before the first hole, and anchors land in full brick, never a mortar joint. More on our fireplace work.

DART's Green Line reached Carrollton in December 2010 with three stations, and the 25 acres around Trinity Mills are becoming what DART calls the region's largest publicly owned transit-oriented development; EVIVA Trinity Mills alone brings more than 430 units. That means plenty of new tenants with a fresh lease and a big box in the hallway. For them we find two studs, keep holes few and small, and run the HDMI in a paintable raceway ($39) so the drywall stays whole. The TV's power cord never rides in that raceway or inside a wall; owners who want it out of sight get a listed in-wall power kit. If a leasing office asks for a certificate of insurance, Bohdan sends it ahead of the visit. Book in the morning and an afternoon slot is often open. Our raceway guide shows the finished look.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

A fire block and a dead intercom box shared the bay; Bohdan reused the intercom opening as the cable pass-through under a wall plate.

The raised hearth lifted the mantel to about 5 feet; after the burn test passed, Bohdan hung the TV just above it, tilted toward the sofa.
