Murray grew from smelter worker houses into a city of 1960s–70s brick ramblers, split-levels with finished basements and new townhomes on the old Fireclay brickyard. Anton's crew drives in from West Jordan, so a morning request often becomes a same-day afternoon visit: wall checked, TV level, cables tidy before we go.
TV mounting in Murray is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick or concrete.
Brick homes often have plaster or paneling inside and a brick fireplace wall in the living room. We drill solid brick faces with masonry anchors and find the studs behind paneling. Brick vs. veneer.
Basement rooms are framed in front of the concrete foundation. The mount goes into the studs and the cables run inside the framing ($69). Hiding cables.
Many renters near the medical center work nights and want a bedroom TV mounted where it can be seen from bed. We mount into studs and use a removable raceway ($39). Renter-friendly cables.
New homes and townhomes filling old lots are standard wood studs and drywall. Lag bolts into two studs, level and pull-tested. Drywall guide.
21,557 homes and about 50,188 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Murray's median home was built in 1978, and 38.9% of its housing dates from 1960 to 1979, the rambler and split-level years. Behind those living rooms we usually find wood studs under drywall or paneling, with a basement studded out ahead of the concrete below. Utility gas heats 82.8% of homes, and most fireplaces we mount over here burn gas, so we run the fire and measure the wall before choosing a TV height.
Murray never got a street grid; it spread along old roads toward the commercial corner of State and Vine, so a single block can mix eras. The west side was Bergertown, the smelter workers' quarter, and ASARCO added company houses in 1911. Older homes of that era stand in the Murray Downtown Residential Historic District, where we keep holes to the mount itself. There we expect plaster on lath or straight on brick, so a small test hole decides between lag bolts and masonry anchors.
The redevelopment of the old Utah Fireclay brickyard on Fireclay Avenue includes live/work townhomes, and condo projects such as Lofts on Vine are moving through city approval. Utah law lets a community association limit interior work only for neighbors' safety, and we send a certificate of insurance the same day when management asks.

In a split-level, the upstairs living room usually holds the brick or gas fireplace; we run a gas unit for twenty minutes, feel and measure the wall, and go higher on a tilting mount ($49) if it runs warm. Down the half flight, the family room sits on a studded wall ahead of the foundation, the easiest wall in the house: two studs, a listed in-wall power kit fed from the existing outlet ($69), and about an hour of work. The power cord itself never goes inside the wall. Planning a 75-inch or 85-inch screen ($129) for the basement? One price list for the whole Wasatch Front — the wall type does not change the price, and neither does the drive. Plaster over brick, basement framing and earthquake straps are billed exactly like drywall.
