Fuquay-Varina is mostly new houses — over half built since 2010, in places like Johnson Pond and Providence Oaks — with Queen Anne and Craftsman homes still standing near the old mineral spring. Tymofii runs our west Cary crew's second base here, so a same-day visit is usually one call away.
TV mounting in Fuquay-Varina is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Older houses in both downtowns have plaster or plank walls. We find the framing and mount into it, patching any test holes. Studs behind plaster.
New subdivisions are drywall on wood studs with a gas fireplace on the TV wall. Heat check, then a tilting mount ($49). TVs over fireplaces.
Builder outlets rarely match the TV spot; the cables go inside the wall ($69) to a recessed box behind the screen. Hiding cables, drywall guide.
Covered porches and patios get outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry. Outdoor TVs.
15,187 homes and about 40,485 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Median year built here is 2011, and 54.3% of homes went up in 2010 or later, so almost every TV wall we open is drywall on wood studs with a builder outlet set for a console, not a mounted screen. Cables usually hide inside those walls. With 81.1% of homes detached houses, a typical visit covers a family room over a gas fireplace plus a bonus room. The plaster and plank houses near the spring are the rare exception.
In 2022 the town had 67 residential projects under construction at once, and Mungo Homes is now adding 119 townhomes, row houses and detached homes at Arbor Preserve, by Highway 540 and Lake Wheeler Drive. Most houses we visit here are a few years old and share habits: a cable outlet at console height, a family room that climbs two stories, and now and then studs 24 inches apart instead of 16, so we check framing before picking a bracket.
Bonus rooms over the garage run warm on summer afternoons, so attic cable runs get morning slots. Hidden cables use a listed in-wall power kit fed from the existing outlet; the TV cord never goes inside the wall, and a new outlet is a licensed electrician's job. A 65- to 85-inch screen is $129; we price cable concealment on site. Tymofii often finishes here before driving up to Holly Springs.

The Fuquay Springs Historic District, on the National Register, is mostly houses from about 1899 to 1946 — Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and Craftsman — gathered near the Ben-Wiley Hotel and the restored spring park. Inside, expect plaster over wood lath or plank walls instead of drywall, and paint that likely predates 1978. Downtown Varina has a handful from the same era.
Tymofii treats these rooms differently. He drills small test holes inside the bracket's footprint to find the studs, uses a dust shroud, and never sands or scrapes old paint. If the plaster is too thick for a recessed box, cables go into a paintable raceway instead. Roughly one pre-1960 house in eight still has a two-prong outlet where the TV belongs; we stop there and your electrician updates it first. Read our plaster wall guide, or send a photo of the wall for a same-day slot.

Studs ran 24 inches apart, so Tymofii centered the plate on two of them and fished the cables through the knee-wall attic early in the morning.
