Millbridge two-story family room
After the 20-minute burn, we hung it 10 inches below the builder's box and ran power through a recessed kit.

Nearly half of Waxhaw's homes went up after 2010, in places like Millbridge with its covered-bridge entrance, while Main, Broad and Church streets keep the 1991 historic district. Our South Charlotte crew drives down most weeks, often same-day, for stone fireplaces, bonus rooms, hidden cables and old plaster.
TV mounting in Waxhaw is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or plaster.
Stacked-stone fireplaces in the family room are the Waxhaw standard. We anchor into solid stone or the framing behind the veneer, shim level and check the heat above the firebox. Mounting on stone.
Bonus rooms and lofts upstairs have sloped ceilings and knee walls. We measure the sight line and use a low tilting mount ($49) where the wall is short. TV height.
Porches here get used from March to November. An outdoor-rated TV under the roof, stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry handle the humidity and the pollen. Outdoor TVs.
Two-story family rooms call for 75- and 85-inch TVs. Heavy-duty mounts, two studs, cables inside the wall ($69) and a second technician for the lift. 85-inch TVs.
7,084 homes and about 22,275 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
With 48.8% of homes built in 2010 or later, most Waxhaw TV walls are fresh drywall on wood studs, and the surprises come from the builder: a cable box near the ceiling, studs 24 inches apart, a stone chase over the firebox. Older houses are scarce and cluster downtown, where plaster appears. Because 87.0% are detached houses, about half our visits here cover three TVs: family room, bonus room and primary bedroom.
Tell us roughly when your house was built and we can usually describe the wall before Volodymyr parks in the driveway.
| Built | Where | Typical TV wall |
|---|---|---|
| before 1960 | Main, Broad, Church streets | plaster over lath |
| 2004–2007 | Wesley Oaks | drywall, some studs 24 inches apart |
| 2010s | Millbridge, Cureton, Lawson | stacked stone, two-story rooms |
| this decade | Encore at Streamside | fresh drywall, high builder outlet |
Millbridge's 920 acres have finished building out, so most houses we now visit there are resales, and their new owners inherit a cable box near the ceiling. We measure from the sofa with the height tool and often settle the screen lower, then bring power down through a listed in-wall power kit ($69); the TV's own cord never runs loose inside the wall. More on that in hiding wires in the wall.

The Waxhaw Historic District joined the National Register on December 6, 1991. Mounting inside one of its houses leaves the exterior untouched. Outdoor work is different: the town ties downtown exterior improvements to its Historic Landmark Standards, so before a street-facing porch TV or a new cable hole through old siding, check with town planning staff first.
Out in the subdivisions, the snag is usually heat and stone rather than paperwork. Every fireplace job starts with a 20-minute burn at full flame and a surface reading, and on stacked stone we anchor into the framing or solid backing, since the veneer is not structure (fireplace TVs).
Volodymyr's South Charlotte crew covers Waxhaw along with Weddington, so a morning request often becomes an afternoon visit. Send a photo of the wall through our quote form; a 61- to 85-inch TV is a flat $129.

Studs sat 24 inches apart, so a backing rail spanning both carries the arm.
