Lake Ridge two-story great room
After the 20-minute burn test, Volodymyr set the screen 10 inches below the builder's box and ran power down the chase with a recessed in-wall kit.

Tega Cay grew in phases on a Lake Wylie peninsula once called India Hook Hills, so the town mixes 1980s cove houses with brand-new builds in The Manors at Lake Ridge. We read each wall before drilling, from stacked-stone great rooms to carriage-home drywall, and Volodymyr's South Charlotte crew can usually be at your door the same day or next.
TV mounting in Tega Cay is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or plaster.
Lakefront homes have great rooms with stone fireplaces and big windows toward the water. We anchor into solid stone or the framing behind it and put the TV where the glare doesn't reach. Mounting on stone.
Golf-course and newer homes are wood studs and drywall with gas fireplaces. Lag bolts into two studs and cables inside the wall ($69). Hiding cables.
A TV by the lake lives with humidity, sun and summer storms. Outdoor-rated screens, stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry, under a solid roof on the deck or in the boathouse. Outdoor TVs.
In rooms built around the water, a Samsung Frame flush to the wall in art mode keeps the view the focus. We hide the One Connect box and run one thin cable. Frame TVs.
5,021 homes and about 13,615 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Tega Cay's median home was built in 2006, and 37.5% of homes date from 2010 or later, so plaster and old brick are rare here. Most TV walls are drywall on wood studs, and in newer builds about 1 in 6 of the walls we open are framed 24 inches on center, which decides the mount's stud reach. With 76.5% detached houses, the real variety is in the room: two-story great rooms, stacked-stone chases, bonus rooms over the garage and covered decks facing the coves.
Tega Cay started in 1970, when Duke Power sold about 1,600 acres to the Ervin Company. That developer and several after it failed before finishing, so the town filled in phase by phase, and the TV wall you get depends on when your street was built. Older peninsula houses from the 1980s and 1990s near the golf course often have ranch-style dens, brick hearths and paneling we probe before drilling. The 2000s brought two-story great rooms with gas fireplaces wrapped in stacked stone; that veneer is not structure, so we anchor to the framing behind it and run a 20-minute burn first (fireplace TVs). Newer streets such as The Manors at Lake Ridge add bonus rooms over the garage, where a short knee wall often means a tilting mount. Lake Wylie, created by a 1904 dam on the Catawba River, is why so many Tega Cay homes have a covered deck, and why townhomes on Morningside Drive share a dock. HOA rules are not uniform here: a Tana Tea Circle listing shows no HOA at all, while a Mariners Court listing carries an architectural review restriction. South Carolina law also says an HOA's rules must be recorded in the county to be enforceable, so ask your board for the current York County copy before a visible exterior TV goes up. On a shallow deck roof we keep the screen at least 3 feet in from the open side, or use a full-motion arm ($69) that folds flat and locks (outdoor TVs). The TV's power cord stays out of the wall cavity, and a missing in-use outlet cover goes to your electrician.

The deck roof was too shallow for a 3-foot setback, so the TV went on an arm that folds flat and locks.

Studs ran 24 inches on center, so we picked a plate wide enough to reach two of them.
