TV Mounting in Lake Wylie, SC

Lake Wylie is a lake town first: 325 miles of shoreline, coves full of docks, and new streets climbing away from Highway 49 toward Handsmill and Cypress Point. Homes here are built around the view, so the TV has to share a wall with windows, stone and sun. Volodymyr's South Charlotte crew crosses the Buster Boyd Bridge most days and can usually be at your door the same day.

TV mounting in Lake Wylie is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or plaster.

Lakefront homes, River Hills and new neighborhoods

Lakefront homes have great rooms with stone fireplaces and walls of glass toward the water. We anchor into solid stone or the framing behind it and choose the wall out of the afternoon glare. Mounting on stone.

River Hills and newer homes are wood studs and drywall with gas fireplaces and bonus rooms. Lag bolts into two studs and cables inside the wall ($69). Hiding cables.

Decks, docks and boathouses

Outdoor TVs by the lake face humidity, sun and summer storms. We use outdoor-rated screens, stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry, mounted under a solid roof. Outdoor TVs.

Frame TVs and fireplaces

Over the fireplace we check the heat and the height first; in view rooms many owners choose a Samsung Frame flush in art mode so the lake stays the focus. Frame TVs.

What this means for your TV wall

The median Lake Wylie home was built in 2003, and 34.0% went up in 2010 or later, so most TV walls are drywall on wood studs with builder outlets and gas fireplaces. With 71.3% of homes detached and 82.8% owner-occupied, nearly every call is an owner planning a permanent setup: hidden cables, a soundbar, sometimes a second screen on the porch. The older 1980s and 1990s lake houses (24.4% of homes) are where we meet paneling, real stone and framing 24 inches on center.

Where the TV goes in a house built for the view

Lake Wylie dates to a 1904 dam near Fort Mill, rebuilt in 1924, and most homes on its South Carolina shore turn their best rooms toward roughly 13,443 acres of water. That is lovely until the TV goes up: the obvious wall is often glass, and the one across from it catches every reflection.

New streets, new walls

New neighborhoods keep coming: Handsmill alone plans about 650 homes, and Fielding Homes proposed a subdivision of around 435 lots off SC 274 near Allison Creek. Brand-new drywall is the easiest wall we mount on, but builders rarely put the outlet where the TV belongs. We fish the low-voltage cables inside the wall ($69) and bring power down with a listed in-wall kit; the TV cord itself never runs loose in the wall. Moving in before the furniture arrives is the best time to call. Neighbors across the cove in Tega Cay and Fort Mill see the same builders, and our outdoor TV guide covers the porch and dock side. lake-view great room in River Hills

  • 75-inch
  • stacked stone over a framed chase
  • heavy-duty tilting

The stone ran to the ceiling, so we found the chase framing behind the veneer, shimmed the plate plumb and ran a burn test on the gas logs before hanging the screen.

villa at Handsmill on Lake Wylie

  • 65-inch
  • wood studs + drywall
  • low-profile fixed

The owners wanted clearer dialogue, so a soundbar went on the TV mount and the low-voltage cables went inside the wall to a listed in-wall power kit.

covered dock off Allison Creek

  • 55-inch outdoor
  • pressure-treated post and beam under a solid roof
  • full-motion

We bolted into the beam, not the siding, and set the arm so the screen turns away from the afternoon glare off the water; power comes from the dock's GFCI outlet.

TV mounting in Lake Wylie, SC: common questions

Can you mount a TV on my covered deck or boathouse?
Yes, an outdoor-rated TV with stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry under a solid roof.
Can you mount a TV over a stone fireplace in a lake house?
Yes. We anchor into solid stone or the framing behind it, check the heat and suggest a tilting or pull-down mount if it sits high.
How much does TV mounting cost in Lake Wylie?
$119 up to 60 inches and $129 up to 85 inches, mounts from $39. No travel fee.
Do you work in River Hills?
Yes — River Hills, Heritage Pointe and the neighborhoods along Highway 49 are all on the same flat rates.
How soon can you come to Lake Wylie?
Usually the same day or the next, seven days a week, 8am–8pm.
The windows face the lake and the TV gets washed out. What can you do?
We pick the wall that sits side-on to the glass rather than opposite it, or use a full-motion arm so you can turn the screen away from the afternoon sun. Blinds help too, but placement fixes most of it.
Can you work in a gated 55+ community like Handsmill or Cypress Point?
Yes. Add us to the gate list when you book, and check if your HOA wants anything for exterior work. Indoor TVs need no approval in most communities.
Can a dock or boathouse TV run off an extension cord?
No. Outdoors we plug into a weather-protected GFCI outlet near the TV. If the dock has none, a licensed electrician adds one first, then we mount.
I have a TV in the living room and one for the porch. Can you do both in one visit?
Yes, and that is typical here. Each TV is its own flat rate, with each extra TV at $40; tell us both sizes in the request so we bring the right mounts.
