Huntersville neighborhood by neighborhood
The town was called Craighead until 1873, and the Hugh Torance House on Gilead Road goes back to the 1770s, but almost everything we mount on is far newer. Duke Energy filled Lake Norman between 1959 and 1964, and the suburbs followed in the 1990s and 2000s, the growth the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute describes for all of north Mecklenburg.

Lake houses, porches and the bonus room
Lake living means the TV often moves outside. On screened porches and covered decks facing the water we use outdoor-rated screens, stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry, mounted away from the afternoon glare; see our outdoor TV guide. Bonus rooms over the garage run warm on summer afternoons, so we book attic cable runs for the morning.
A TV power cord never goes inside a wall on its own. In a house we use a listed in-wall power kit, as in our guide to hiding TV wires in the wall; a new outlet behind the screen is a job for a licensed electrician.

Send us the screen sizes, the rooms and whether the fireplace is gas or electric, plus the gate code for Skybrook or NorthStone. Stepan also covers neighboring Cornelius and Davidson; every town we serve is on the Charlotte region page.
