Sugar Hill homes are young: Sugar Crossing and Lakes at Riverside went up in the 1990s, Richland Crossing in 2001, and nearly a third of homes since 2010. Expect drywall on wood studs, gas fireplaces and terrace basements. Roman's crew can often come the same day, at a flat price.
TV mounting in Sugar Hill is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or plaster.
Family homes have a fireplace in the family room, a bonus room upstairs and a basement on a concrete foundation. Lag bolts into two studs on framed walls, masonry anchors on concrete. Concrete walls.
Downtown townhomes have the living room on the second floor with a narrow TV wall. We carry the screen up the stairs, mount into two studs and run cables inside the wall ($69).
A TV over a family-room fireplace often ends up too high. We talk through a lower spot or a pull-down mount ($99) before drilling. TVs over fireplaces.
Bonus rooms and basements get the biggest screens. 86 inches and up start at $179 with two technicians. Big TVs.
8,978 homes and about 26,128 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Sugar Hill's median home was built in 2003, and 80.3% of homes are detached houses, so most TV walls we see are half-inch drywall on wood studs, usually 16 inches apart, with room in the bay for a listed in-wall power kit. Gas is the main heat in 64.2% of homes, which is why the family-room fireplace here usually burns gas logs and gets our burn test before any plate goes up. We scan for its gas line too.
Sugar Hill houses come from two building eras. Lakes at Riverside, off Swan Walk north of Riverside Road, went up between 1989 and 1998; Sugar Crossing followed in 1992–97 and the Glens of Sugar Hill around 1997–2000. In these houses the family-room fireplace is often brick or an early stacked-stone face, and many sit over a basement, so a cable can drop through the bottom plate to a cabinet downstairs. Richland Crossing, built in 2001 off April Drive, starts the second era: taller family rooms, drywall chases and more slab floors. In slab houses, common across Gwinnett, an in-wall run goes up through the attic instead. The newest homes, the 30.6% built since 2010, often have a builder TV box set high on the chase. We settle the height with our height tool before drilling.

Many Sugar Hill requests are for the gas fireplace wall, and the visit runs in a fixed order. Roman lights the logs at full flame for 15 minutes and reads the surface where the TV's bottom edge will sit; if it runs warm, the screen goes higher on a tilting mount or onto a pull-down. He maps the gas pipe so the wall plate lands on studs clear of it. Stacked stone is usually veneer, so anchors pass through it into the framing. A 61–85-inch screen is $129; a listed in-wall power kit is $69, because the TV cord never runs loose inside a wall. See our fireplace TV service. The crew also covers Buford and Suwanee, so same-day slots are common. Send wall photos and your TV size through the quote form and we confirm a time.

The buried foundation wall meant drilling through the furring into solid concrete for sleeve anchors.
