TV Mounting in San Marcos, CA

San Marcos is where our inland North County day begins: Maksym's crew keeps its storage here, so a request from San Elijo Hills, Rancho Tesoro or a Barham townhome often becomes a same-day visit. Half the homes here postdate 1996, so walls are mostly predictable studs; we mount, hide wires and clean up in one trip.

TV mounting in San Marcos is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stucco or concrete.

San Elijo Hills family homes, lake homes and student apartments

San Elijo Hills homes are 2000s stucco and drywall on wood studs with family rooms, bonus rooms and pre-wired TV niches. Two studs and lag bolts, a safety strap on articulating arms and cables inside the wall ($69). Hiding cables.

Student apartments near CSUSM limit wall work. Two small holes into the studs and a paintable raceway ($39); we take the TV down again at move-out ($49). Apartment mounting.

Bonus rooms and big screens

Bonus rooms become game rooms with the biggest TV in the house. 86 inches and up start at $179 with two technicians. Big TVs.

Lake San Marcos patios

Homes on the lake have patios facing the water. Outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware under a solid roof, angled out of the glare. Outdoor TVs.

What this means for your TV wall

The median home in San Marcos was built in 1996, and 28.3% of all housing went up in the 2000s alone, so most TV walls we open are wood studs behind half-inch drywall, ready for lag bolts. Utility gas heats 64.0% of homes, and that gas often also feeds a family-room fireplace, which makes the wall above it the most requested spot. Older houses cluster around Lake San Marcos and Richland, where slump stone and brick appear.

Rancho Tesoro, Barham and the newest builds

Newer streets fill much of our San Marcos calendar. Brookfield Residential's Rancho Tesoro spreads over more than 250 acres in four neighborhoods, with trails down to Discovery Lake. In Barham, about a mile from Cal State San Marcos, Lennar took on a 151-unit project of three-story townhomes. What that means on the day:

  • Upstairs living rooms. In a three-story townhome the TV wall is often the one shared with the neighbor. We anchor into its studs but route cables in a painted raceway instead of cutting that wall.
  • Builder conduit. Where a pipe runs to the media cabinet, we pull HDMI through it and add a listed in-wall power kit (cable concealment); the TV's own cord stays outside the wall.
  • New paint. Small openings and a vacuum at the drill keep the builder's final walkthrough list clean.

Fireplace walls from San Elijo Hills to Lake San Marcos

In most San Marcos family rooms the gas fireplace owns the long wall, and that is where people want the screen. Maksym runs the fire every time and measures the wall above the mantel before he picks a height; about 1 in 10 is too warm for a TV right above it, and then we go higher on a tilting mount ($49) or suggest a pull-down. Check the screen center with our height tool.

Near the lake, 1970s houses bring brick and slump-stone hearths. Slump stone is hollow block with a rough face: we pack shims behind the plate until it sits flat, and anchors go into the solid web between cells while mortar joints stay untouched. Thin stone veneer over framing is decoration, not structure, so we fasten through it into the studs. Details on our fireplace page.

A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Rancho Tesoro two-story

  • 75-inch
  • framed chase + drywall over a sealed gas fireplace
  • tilting

Maksym tested the wall with the fire on, then tilted the screen down toward the sofa.

Barham three-story townhome

  • 65-inch
  • wood studs + drywall (shared wall)
  • full-motion

The wall backed onto the neighbor, so cables ran in a painted raceway.

1970s house near Lake San Marcos

  • 55-inch

TV mounting in San Marcos, CA: common questions

Can you mount a TV in my student apartment near CSUSM?
Yes, with two small holes into the studs and a raceway for the cables.
Can you mount several TVs in my San Elijo Hills home?
Yes. Each additional TV is $40.
How much does TV mounting cost in San Marcos?
$119 up to 60 inches, $129 up to 85 inches, no travel fee.
Are your mounts earthquake-safe?
Yes — solid studs, rated hardware and a strap on full-motion arms.
How soon can you come?
Usually the same day or the next, seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.
Can you come the same day to San Elijo Hills?
Often, yes. Maksym's crew works from our North County storage in San Marcos two days a week, and across the region about 2 in 3 requests sent before noon get a same-day slot. Wall photos sent through our quote form help.
Will my TV fit the builder's niche in a new home?
We measure the niche before anything goes up: the TV maker asks for some clearance at the sides and back, and a niche above a fireplace also gets a heat check. If it fits, a low-profile fixed mount keeps the screen flush.
Do you cover Vista and Escondido on the same trip?
Yes. From the San Marcos base the same crew covers Vista, Escondido, Poway, Valley Center and the La Costa side of Carlsbad, so neighbors can book back-to-back slots. A second TV in your own home is $40.
