Escondido homes sit in the warmest valley we serve, from plaster Craftsman houses in Old Escondido to family rooms in Kit Carson and Felicita and the city's 25 mobilehome parks. Maksym runs our inland North County days from San Marcos, so a morning request often becomes an afternoon install at a flat price.
TV mounting in Escondido is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stucco or concrete.
Old Escondido homes have plaster over wood lath and irregular stud spacing. We find studs with test holes, drill slowly and use a wide mount when they don't match the TV. Mounts for plaster walls.
Valley and ranch homes are stucco and drywall on wood studs with fireplaces in the family room. Two studs and lag bolts, a safety strap on articulating arms and a heat check above the firebox. TVs over fireplaces.
Escondido summers are hot. Outdoor TVs go under a solid roof on the shaded side of the house, with stainless hardware and a screen rated for high temperatures. Outdoor TVs.
Ranch properties often have a casita, a guest house or a workshop that wants its own TV. We mount into the framing and run cables in raceway ($39).
52,239 homes and about 149,668 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

Most walls we meet here date from the city's two big building waves: 36.4% of homes went up in 1960-79 and 37.3% in 1980-99, so the usual TV wall is drywall on wood studs behind stucco, often with a brick or slump-stone fireplace in the family room. Utility gas heats 60.8% of homes, and many of those gas lines feed a log set or insert, which is why we measure the wall's temperature before choosing a height.
Escondido averages 53.9 days a year at 90 °F or more, and on September 6, 2020 the city hit 115 °F, its all-time record. In Kit Carson and Felicita houses, the fireplace can sit on a west wall that bakes all afternoon, so the spot above the mantel can be warm before anyone lights the logs. On every fireplace job Maksym measures that wall, and when the firebox burns gas he runs it for a while first. About 1 in 10 walls we test are too warm for a TV just over the mantel; then the screen goes higher on a tilting mount ($49) or we talk through a pull-down. Stone veneer is never treated as structure: anchors go through it into the framing or block behind. Plan the sightline with the height tool, and read how our fireplace TV installation works.

Escondido has about 3,500 mobilehomes in 25 parks, six of them owned by the residents. Their walls are too thin for a recessed box, so nine times in ten we run a slim raceway painted to match. In Old Escondido, where about 900 homes form the historic district, any exterior change such as paint, windows or fencing needs a certificate of appropriateness, so we keep every wire indoors and never add a box or conduit outside. Newer three-story townhomes, like the 70 KB Home is building near the Transit Center, bring fire blocks that can call for one extra small opening. Everywhere, the TV's own cord never goes inside the wall: in-wall jobs ($69) use a listed power kit from an existing outlet, and a new outlet means a licensed electrician and a city permit. More on cable concealment.

We read the west wall late on a 100-degree afternoon before any fire, found it already warm, and set the TV higher with tilt.

The wall was too thin for a recessed box, so one painted raceway carries the TV and soundbar cables together.

One price list for all of San Diego County — the wall type does not change the price, and neither does the drive. Stucco, downtown concrete and quake-safe strapping are billed exactly like drywall.
