Mounting TVs in Jupiter waterfront homes and ranches

Waterfront homes in Admirals Cove and around the Inlet are block exteriors with framed interiors, tall ceilings and large outdoor living areas.

Abacoa and Egret Landing are 2000s homes and townhomes — block below, framed above and inside; easy walls for hidden cables.

Jupiter Farms ranches and barns vary: block, wood frame and metal buildings. We identify each before drilling.

Outdoor and dockside TVs

Covered lanais facing the water are where Jupiter families watch games. Salt air calls for stainless hardware, sealed cable entries and outdoor-rated screens — outdoor TVs.

Large screens in tall rooms

Great rooms with 14-foot ceilings get 85-inch screens; we keep them near eye level and use heavy-duty mounts — mounting an 85-inch TV.

Hurricane prep for outdoor TVs

Jupiter's waterfront patios take the brunt of Atlantic storms. We recommend a quick-release or fold-flat mount so the TV can come inside before a hurricane, label the release hardware and leave the mount itself sealed against salt.

Abacoa family homes

Abacoa's newer homes and townhomes have framed interior walls, so living-room TVs usually get in-wall cables ($69) and a soundbar on its own bracket.

Homes in Jupiter by the numbers

31,257 homes and about 61,883 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

What this means for your TV wall

With 53.8% of Jupiter homes built between 1980 and 1999, the walls we meet are mostly block on the outside face and framed partitions inside. Owners occupy 78.5% of homes, so most customers can choose an in-wall run without asking a landlord, though a club HOA may still want a say. Townhomes make up 16.5% of housing, and their shared party walls are often fire-rated, so on that wall we usually switch to a surface raceway.

Clubs, condos, townhomes and the Farms: one plan per Jupiter address

Before Marian loads the van, the street name tells him most of what the wall will be. In Jonathan's Landing, Bears Club and Jupiter Country Club it is usually a framed partition in a tall family room, good for an in-wall power kit. Jupiter Yacht Club towers such as The Admiral mean poured concrete, an insurance certificate and a painted raceway. Abacoa townhomes get a wall check first, because the party wall is usually fire-rated. Jonathan's Landing pairs a marina with golf, so the TV often lands on a side wall; a full-motion arm ($69) turns it toward the sofa and folds flat for the view. Jupiter Farms has no HOA, so a porch or barn TV needs only your go-ahead. Set the screen center with our height tool, then send a request and Marian replies with a time, often the same day.

Salt air on a Jupiter lanai: why every bolt is stainless

FEMA's coastal corrosion bulletin says salt spray falls off fastest within the first 300 to 3,000 feet of the shoreline, yet studies have measured faster corrosion as far as 5 to 10 miles inland. For Jupiter that covers the Inlet, the Intracoastal clubs and well past Abacoa. The same bulletin flags covered spots under a roof or balcony as worse than open ones, because rain never rinses them and they stay damp longer. That describes nearly every Jupiter lanai we work on.

So Marian brings Type 316 stainless bolts with stainless washers, since mixing metals invites galvanic corrosion, and leaves a drip loop below each cable entry. The TV plugs into a weather-protected outdoor outlet; its power cord never runs inside the wall or the cable channel. More detail is on our outdoor TV installation page, and pool decks in neighboring Palm Beach Gardens get the same hardware.

From our Jupiter job log

A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Jonathan's Landing golf home

  • 75-inch
  • framed interior wall + drywall
  • full-motion

No outlet on the fairway wall, so Marian set a listed in-wall power kit and pulled HDMI to a cabinet across the room.

Jupiter Yacht Club condo

  • 55-inch
  • poured concrete
  • tilting

Concrete ruled out an in-wall route: HDMI went into a painted raceway, and the TV plugs into the outlet behind it.

Jupiter Farms ranch porch

  • 65-inch
  • hollow concrete block + stucco
  • fixed

Stainless anchors went into the block webs, never the mortar joints, with a drip loop at each cable entry.

TV mounting in Jupiter, FL: common questions

Do you charge extra to come to Jupiter?
No. There is no travel fee — Jupiter is priced exactly like Miami.
How much does TV mounting cost in Jupiter?
$119 up to 60 inches, $129 for 61–85 inches, from $179 for larger screens.
Can you install a TV on my dock-side lanai?
Yes, with stainless hardware and an outdoor-rated TV recommended.
Can the cables be hidden in Abacoa homes?
Usually yes — interior walls there are framed.
Is same-day possible in Jupiter?
Sometimes; morning bookings give the best chance.
Can you mount a TV near my motorized hurricane shutters?
Yes. We keep the bracket clear of the shutter track and switch, and never tap the shutter motor's circuit. The Town of Jupiter requires a separate electrical permit for motor-driven shutters, so a new outlet beside them belongs to your licensed electrician.
My Yacht Club or Jonathan's Landing association has rules. What do you need?
About 8 in 10 condo buildings we work in want a certificate of insurance first, and we send it the day you book. On shared or fire-rated walls we run HDMI in a paintable raceway instead of opening drywall.
How long will my Jupiter visit take?
A standard indoor TV takes about 1.5 hours; a lanai or dock TV about 2.5, since every fastener is stainless and each cable entry is sealed. An in-wall run on a framed wall adds about an hour; raceway concealment ($39) adds about 30 minutes.
