TCL S5 (S551G) LED wall mount specs: VESA and weight for every size

The TCL S551G comes in 43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 85". The VESA pattern depends on the size: 200 × 200 mm on the 43", 300 × 300 mm on the 50 and 55", 400 × 300 mm on the 65", 400 × 400 mm on the 75" and 600 × 400 mm on the 85". Without the stand it weighs 12.4 to 77.4 lb; the table has the screws and the US model number for each size.

The TCL S551G against its lineup

3 of the 12 TCL 65" models from 2024 to 2026 use 400 × 300 mm. The others use 300 × 300 (8) and 400 × 400 (1). 9 of them weigh more than this one. At 35.7 lb it is about 24% lighter than the 47 lb typical of 65" panels.

What changed from the 2023 TCL S450R

50": 200 × 200 mm and 18.3 lb on the S450R, 300 × 300 mm and 19.6 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.
55": 200 × 200 mm and 22 lb on the S450R, 300 × 300 mm and 23.2 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.
65": 200 × 200 mm and 30.9 lb on the S450R, 400 × 300 mm and 35.7 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.
75": 300 × 300 mm and 48.5 lb on the S450R, 400 × 400 mm and 50.5 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.

On the 43" nothing changed from the S450R: the old mount fits.

Screws, studs and height

TCL lists different screws by size — the table above has each one. Use the screws with that thread from the bracket's kit, and stop if one bottoms out before the plate is tight: a spacer fixes that, force does not.

43": The holes are 7.9" apart side to side; the wall plate of the bracket, not the TV, has to reach the studs.

50 and 55": The holes are 11.8" apart side to side; the wall plate of the bracket, not the TV, has to reach the studs.

65 and 75": The holes are 15.7" apart side to side, close to 16" stud spacing, so the mount's arms and the studs line up easily.

85": The holes are 23.6" apart side to side, wider than 16" stud spacing — pick a bracket whose wall plate spans the studs.

With the centre at 42" for sofa seating, a 65" screen runs from about 26" to 58" off the floor. In a bedroom the centre goes 42–50". Work it out for your own seat →

No. Drywall alone is for TVs up to about 32" and 30 lb on rated anchors. The TCL S551G starts at 43" and 12.4 lb, so it needs bolts in the studs, or masonry anchors in brick or concrete.
