The Samsung U8000H comes in 43, 50, 55, 58, 65, 70, 75 and 85". The VESA pattern depends on the size: 200 × 200 mm on the 43, 50, 55, 58 and 65" and 400 × 300 mm on the 70, 75 and 85". Without the stand it weighs 14.3 to 62.6 lb; the table has the screws and the US model number for each size.

The Samsung U8000H against its lineup

6 of the 53 Samsung 65" models from 2024 to 2026 use 200 × 200 mm. The others use 400 × 300 (38), 300 × 200 (7) and 400 × 400 (2). 51 of them weigh more than this one. At 31.1 lb it is about 34% lighter than the 47 lb typical of 65" panels.

What changed from the 2024 Samsung DU8000

58": 400 × 300 mm and 33.5 lb on the CU7000, 200 × 200 mm and 25.6 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.
65": 400 × 300 mm and 46.1 lb on the DU8000, 200 × 200 mm and 31.1 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.
70": 400 × 400 mm and 48.9 lb on the DU7200, 400 × 300 mm and 41.9 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.
85": 600 × 400 mm and 91.5 lb on the DU8000, 400 × 300 mm and 62.6 lb now — new holes, check the old bracket's VESA range.

On the 43, 50, 55 and 75" nothing changed from the DU8000: the old mount fits.

Screws, studs and height

Samsung lists M8 screws for the four holes. Use the screws with that thread from the bracket's kit, and stop if one bottoms out before the plate is tight: a spacer fixes that, force does not.

43, 50, 55, 58 and 65": The holes are 7.9" apart side to side; the wall plate of the bracket, not the TV, has to reach the studs.

70, 75 and 85": The holes are 15.7" apart side to side, close to 16" stud spacing, so the mount's arms and the studs line up easily.

With the centre at 42" for sofa seating, a 65" screen runs from about 26" to 58" off the floor. In a bedroom the centre goes 42–50". Work it out for your own seat →

Can the Samsung U8000H hang on drywall without studs?

No. Drywall alone is for TVs up to about 32" and 30 lb on rated anchors. The Samsung U8000H starts at 43" and 14.3 lb, so it needs bolts in the studs, or masonry anchors in brick or concrete.
