Rocky Mount puts two kinds of TV walls a short drive apart: plaster and brick in Villa Place and the Rocky Mount Mills village by the Tar River, fresh drywall off Sunset Avenue. Illia brings the North Raleigh crew east, tests your wall and mounts your TV the same day.
TV mounting in Rocky Mount is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
West Haven and Englewood houses often have plaster walls and brick fireplaces. We confirm the studs, anchor into solid brick and patch every test hole. Brick vs. stone veneer.
Newer homes toward Stoney Creek are drywall on wood studs. Lag bolts into two studs, cables inside the wall ($69). Drywall guide.
Renters get studs only and a removable raceway ($39), with holes patched at move-out. Mounting in an apartment.
No travel fee for the drive east: $119 up to 60 inches, each extra TV $40. What TV mounting costs, mounts for plaster.
26,869 homes and about 54,297 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Half the homes in Rocky Mount predate 1979, the median year built, so plaster, painted brick and the occasional two-prong outlet are routine for us. Renters hold 51.0% of homes, which is why many visits end in removable raceway and a landlord-approved plan. Detached houses make up 65.9% of the stock, so most TVs still go on a wood-framed wall. In pre-1978 houses we drill only the holes the mount needs.
Downtown's historic districts hold most of the town's pre-war houses. Villa Place counts 321 contributing buildings, mostly Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and Craftsman homes from about 1900 to 1950, and West Haven adds 181 more along the river. Expect old plaster and painted chimney breasts, so Illia starts with one test hole the TV will hide and picks anchors after he sees what is behind it.
Rocky Mount Mills Village, between the Tar River and Columbia Avenue, is a different job: compact mill houses, short walls and few spots that clear a window. There we usually choose a fixed or low-tilt mount and paintable raceway rather than opening old walls. Falls Road and Lincoln Park (laid out in 1948) are similar ground; for a screen over brick, see our fireplace TV service.

Rocky Mount is growing west. The city is widening Sunset Avenue to four lanes through a West Smart Growth Area tied to the new Nash Central High School, and Westry Crossing on that corridor mixes single-family and multifamily zoning. In ZIP 27804, Caruso Homes is building around the 80-acre lake at Belmont Lake Preserve.
These houses are drywall on wood studs: about 50 minutes for one TV, plus half an hour to put cables inside the wall. We check stud spacing, since some new walls are framed 24 inches apart. Screens from 61 to 85 inches are $129, and 75 inches or larger brings a second technician. Try the height tool, add cable concealment, then send a request with a wall photo; we often offer a same-day slot. Neighbors in Wilson get the same crew.
A few jobs from the last months — the kind of walls and setups we see here most.

Illia found the studs through one test hole in the lath. The outlet was two-prong, so the hookup waited for the owner's electrician.

Studs sat 24 inches apart, so Illia and a second technician used a wide-plate mount and a listed in-wall power kit.

One price list for Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and out to Pinehurst and Fayetteville — the wall type does not change the price, and neither does the drive. Oakwood plaster, stacked-stone fireplaces and downtown concrete are billed exactly like drywall.
