Brick ranch off Beckford Drive

Henderson rents more than most towns in our area: six homes in ten are rented, many of them 1960s brick ranches off Oxford Road and Beckford Drive. Danylo drives up from our Durham crew, mounts into studs or brick, keeps cables removable when a lease asks, and can often come the same day.
TV mounting in Henderson is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for brick, stone or plaster.
Older houses downtown have plaster or plank walls. We find the framing behind the finish and mount into it. Studs behind plaster.
Brick ranches and newer homes are wood-framed. Lag bolts into two studs; cables inside the wall ($69) or in a raceway. Drywall guide.
Decks and screened porches toward the water get outdoor-rated TVs, stainless hardware and a sealed cable entry. Outdoor TVs.
Lake houses often have a mount from the last TV. We check it fits the new one before reusing it. Will your mount fit?, what TV mounting costs.
7,326 homes and about 14,885 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
The median Henderson home was built in 1968, and 37.3% of units date from the 1960s and 70s, so the usual TV wall is drywall on wood studs, often next to a brick fireplace. Older houses near downtown add plaster or plank walls and paint that may hold lead; we drill only anchor and cable holes with a dust shroud. With 61.1% of homes rented, many jobs start with a landlord's okay and end in removable raceway.
Most Henderson households rent, from duplexes near Garnett Street to whole brick ranches leased by the year. That changes how we plan the visit. Before Danylo drives up, we ask what the lease says: studs only, no holes over a certain size, or nothing in the brick. Then the plan follows the rule. Lag bolts go into two studs, never into drywall alone, and the cables run in a slim paintable raceway ($39) that comes off without opening the wall. If the landlord does allow an in-wall run, the TV's own cord still never goes inside the wall: we fit a listed in-wall power kit that plugs into the existing outlet. When your lease ends, book a take-down: we remove the mount, fill the holes and leave the wall ready for paint. Our renter's guide to hiding wires shows the options, and cable concealment has the details.

South and west of downtown, along Oxford Road and Beckford Drive, the mid-century ranches mostly have a den with a brick fireplace. Many still burn gas logs or wood, so every fireplace job starts with a 20-minute burn and a reading where the TV's bottom edge will sit; if it runs hot, the screen goes higher on a tilt. Anchors go into solid brick faces, not mortar joints. Newer houses in Willow Creek and near the I-85 exits are plain drywall; mounting a 65-inch there is $129. Up at Kerr Lake, about ten miles north, porch and deck TVs need outdoor-rated sets, stainless lags and a covered outlet, and we keep the screen back from the open side. Danylo often pairs a Henderson visit with Oxford on the same day, so ask for a quote and pick your time.

The lease allowed studs only. Test holes behind the plate found them, and a removable raceway runs to the outlet.

The porch outlet lacked an in-use cover; the owner's electrician fitted one first. Stainless lags and a sealed entry followed.
