TV Mounting in Stone Mountain, GA

Stone Mountain is a town of subdivisions built in waves, from Oakhill in the late 1950s to Kennons Ridge in the early 1990s, wrapped around the old village grid. Mykola, our south-side crew lead, knows these walls, and most visits happen the same day at a flat price.

TV mounting in Stone Mountain is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or plaster.

Rolling lots, walk-out basements and stone fireplaces

Walk-out basements have concrete foundation walls on three sides under drywall. Masonry anchors through the furring strips hold the TV; the framed wall on the walk-out side takes lag bolts. Concrete walls.

Stone fireplaces in the family room get sleeve anchors in the stone faces, never the joints, and a heat check above the firebox. Brick and stone.

Decks and covered patios

Back decks under the trees are the summer living room. Outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware go under a solid roof — never under open trees where limbs and leaves fall. Outdoor TVs.

Businesses in the village

Shops and restaurants in historic Stone Mountain Village are old brick. We anchor into the brick faces and run cables in painted raceways ($39).

What this means for your TV wall

With a median year built of 1979 and 41.6% of homes dating from 1960–79, the typical Stone Mountain TV wall is half-inch drywall on wood studs, often with a brick fireplace or a paneled den. Paint on those walls can predate 1978, so we drill only anchor holes with dust collection. Renters hold 50.2% of homes here, which is why so many of our jobs end with a paintable raceway instead of an opened wall.

Walls by subdivision, from Oakhill to Kennons Ridge

Stone Mountain's streets tell you the decade before we open the door. Curving cul-de-sac subdivisions ring the old Main Street grid, and each building wave left its own kind of TV wall. Oakhill, on the Gwinnett side, dates from 1956 to 1969: brick ranches with low ceilings. Crestland Park went up in barely three years, 1967 to 1970, so its paneled dens and red-brick fireplaces repeat house after house. Bedford Estates, built 1972 to 1987, brings walk-out basements on hollow block, where anchors go into the web and never a mortar joint. Kennons Ridge, from the early 1990s, has taller family rooms with a gas fireplace in a framed chase; there we run the logs 15 minutes and read the wall before choosing a height. Sketch yours with our height tool. Most 65- to 75-inch jobs here are $129.

DeKalb or Gwinnett, the village and back porches

Part of Stone Mountain sits in Gwinnett and part in DeKalb, so permit questions depend on the address; if a new outlet is needed, your electrician deals with the right office. One rule never changes: the TV power cord never runs inside the wall or in a raceway with cables; hidden power needs a listed in-wall power kit (cable concealment).

The National Register district differs. Main Street shops, the houses along East and West Mountain streets and Shermantown at the south end fall under the city's design guidelines, which call for a Certificate of Appropriateness before exterior changes. Interior TVs are outside that review. For a porch screen we suggest the inside wall of a rear porch, out of view from the street, and ask you to check with city staff first; Mykola brings stainless hardware for outdoor TVs.

On-site notes from Stone Mountain jobs

  • Park events and the laser show bring weekend traffic on Memorial Drive — weekdays are easier.
  • Rolling lots mean stairs to the front door; mention it for screens over 75 inches.
  • Older basements can be damp; keep electronics off exterior walls when you can.

TV mounting in Stone Mountain, GA: common questions

Can you mount a TV on a concrete basement wall?
Yes, with masonry anchors through the furring strips into the concrete.
Can you put a TV on my back deck?
Yes, an outdoor-rated TV under a solid roof with stainless hardware.
How much does TV mounting cost in Stone Mountain?
$119 up to 60 inches, $129 up to 85 inches, no travel fee.
Can you mount over my stone fireplace?
Usually yes, after checking the heat and the mantel height.
How soon can you come to Stone Mountain?
Usually the same day or the next, seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. Our crews cover the east side of the metro, so Redan, Shadow Rock and the village get the same schedule as intown Atlanta.
My street is on the Gwinnett side. Does that change anything?
No. Mykola's crew covers both the DeKalb and Gwinnett sides of Stone Mountain on one schedule. The county line matters only if your project needs a new outlet, which a licensed electrician handles first. We mount the same day it is done.
I rent here. Can the TV come down cleanly at move-out?
Yes. The mount goes into two studs and the HDMI runs in a paintable raceway, so no wall is opened. Move-out leaves a few small holes, and we handle the takedown for $49. Mention your lease rules when you request a quote.
Will a TV hold on the wood paneling in my 1970s den?
Yes. Paneling is a finish, not structure, so we locate the studs behind it and fasten the mount through the panel into the wood. A thin raceway painted near the panel color keeps the HDMI tidy.
