Kent became King County's first city outside Seattle in 1890; today most of its TV walls are in 1980s and 1990s family rooms on East Hill and newer apartments downtown. Hlib's South Sound crew starts its day here, so Kent requests often get a same-day slot and one visit for every room.
TV mounting in Kent is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for plaster or concrete.
East Hill and Lake Meridian homes are wood studs and drywall with gas fireplaces. Lag bolts into two studs, cables inside the wall ($69). Drywall guide.
Apartments near Kent Station have leases and shared walls. Studs only and a removable raceway ($39). Raceways without cutting.
Living room, master bedroom, kids' rooms: multi-TV visits are common in Kent. Each additional TV is $40. TVs in apartments.
Family rooms get 75- and 85-inch TVs on heavy-duty mounts; covered patios get outdoor-rated TVs with stainless hardware. 85-inch TVs, outdoor TVs.
49,652 homes and about 135,603 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

Kent's housing is young: 39.6% of homes date from 1980 to 1999, so the usual TV wall is wood studs behind half-inch drywall, and lag bolts bite fast. Only 8.0% predate 1960, so plaster and lath is rare, though a Panther Lake rambler may hide a brick chimney. With 42.8% of households renting, plenty of our Kent jobs end with a raceway instead of a cut, because the lease, not the wall, sets the limit.
About 4 in 5 Kent fireplaces we mount over burn gas, most in family rooms of houses built as East Hill filled with subdivisions. The chase above the firebox is usually framed and drywalled, so one TV takes about an hour and a quarter. The catch is heat. Hlib runs every fireplace for 20 minutes and measures the wall before marking a hole; newer direct-vent units built as room heaters fail that test more often than old log sets, and then the TV goes higher with tilt. Mantels here usually sit 52 to 58 inches up, which already leaves a flat screen above the couch's eye line. Check your numbers with our height tool and read how a fireplace TV installation works. A tilting mount, our usual pick on Kent mantels, is $49. Wood-burning brick fireplaces are rare here, mostly in Panther Lake ramblers.

About half of our Kent visits include three or more TVs: family room, primary bedroom, a bonus room over the garage. Hlib's crew starts from Kent, and about 2 in 3 requests sent before noon get a same-day slot, so list every room when you book and we load the right mounts for each. The next question is usually a new outlet behind the TV. A power cord never runs inside the wall; we use a listed in-wall power kit fed from your existing outlet, and two-story houses sometimes need one small extra opening to clear a fire block. A brand-new circuit is a licensed electrician's job, and since Kent has no electrical permit office of its own, that permit comes from the state L&I. Our cable concealment page covers both routes; the in-wall kit is $69. Renton and Auburn get the same crew.

One price list for all of Puget Sound — the wall type does not change the price, and neither does the drive. Craftsman plaster, tower concrete and earthquake straps are billed exactly like drywall.
