Huntley Hills split-level den
Paint on the brick predated 1978, so Roman drilled only the anchor holes, with a HEPA vacuum at the bit, after a full-flame burn.

Dunwoody is two kinds of home: cul-de-sac traditionals around Dunwoody Village and Huntley Hills, most built in the 1960s and 70s, and the towers rising beside Perimeter Mall. Roman, our north-crew lead, works both, so a same-day visit can be a brick den at nine and a condo at two.
TV mounting in Dunwoody is flat-rate: $119 up to 60", $129 for 61–85" and from $179 for 86" and larger, plus $40 for each additional TV. Mounts from $39, cables hidden in a raceway for $39 or inside the wall for $69. No travel fee and no surcharge for stone or plaster.
Traditional two-stories have a den with a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace and paneling or drywall. Sleeve anchors go into the brick faces, never the mortar; behind paneling we find studs by the nail lines. Brick and stone.
Full basements have poured-concrete or block foundation walls under drywall. Masonry anchors through the furring strips hold the mount; cables run to the utility room. Concrete walls.
Towers around Perimeter Mall have concrete and steel studs. Snap-toggles across two steel studs, COI for the building and elevator reservations — we handle all of it. Metal studs.
Dens with a tall brick fireplace often have the TV near the ceiling. We lower it to a comfortable height, or use a pull-down mount ($99) so it comes down when you watch. TVs over fireplaces.
23,491 homes and about 51,758 residents. The age and type of a home decide what is behind the drywall, so we check this before we quote.

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020–2024 5-year estimates: year built, units in structure, tenure.
Two numbers shape most Dunwoody TV walls. 41.5% of homes were built from 1960 to 1979, the era of brick dens, paneling and block or poured basements, so we come ready for masonry. And 33.5% of units are in buildings of 20 or more, mostly around Perimeter Center, where steel studs, concrete and board rules decide the plan. With 57.3% heated mainly by utility gas, the den fireplace usually burns gas logs, so we heat-test first.
Most houses in Huntley Hills, Dunwoody Club Forest and the streets off Tilly Mill Road went up from the 1960s on, when Dunwoody's farmland turned into subdivisions. In those dens the fireplace wall is where the family wants the screen, and it takes care. Before Roman picks a height, he lights the gas logs for fifteen minutes at full flame and reads the surface at the TV's bottom edge. About one reading in eight is too warm, and the screen goes higher on a tilting mount or waits for a deeper mantel. He also scans the chase, since the gas pipe sometimes runs within reach of the wall plate, and on brick painted before 1978 he drills only the anchor holes, with dust collection. Perimeter Center is still filling in. In December 2018 the council approved the Park at Perimeter Center East on the former City Hall site: four residential towers of up to 14 stories and about 900 for-sale condos. Campus 244 could add roughly 350 apartments near the Dunwoody MARTA station. For a new tower we expect steel studs, a concrete column and a management office that wants paperwork: about 4 in 5 towers we work in ask for a certificate of insurance. Georgia's Condominium Act lets an owner alter a unit's interior if structure is not impaired and the association's documents allow it. For hidden wiring, owners can choose an in-wall kit ($69); a bare power cord never goes inside the wall. Renters get paintable raceway. Moving from Sandy Springs or Brookhaven? We dismount there and rehang here.

Hollow block sat behind the furring, so anchors went into the block webs, and a listed in-wall power kit hid the cords.

Management asked for a certificate of insurance and a weekday slot; both were arranged a day ahead.
