The Sony XR80M2 against its lineup
11 of the 12 Sony 65" models from 2024 to 2026 use 300 × 300 mm. The others use 400 × 200 (1). 5 of them weigh more than this one. At 50.5 lb it is about 7% heavier than the 47 lb typical of 65" panels, so read the weight rating before the size range.
Screws, studs and height
Sony does not list the screw size for this model. Most TVs use M6 or M8; try the screws in the bracket's kit by hand before tightening anything.
The holes are 11.8" apart side to side; the wall plate of the bracket, not the TV, has to reach the studs.
With the centre at 42" for sofa seating, a 65" screen runs from about 26" to 58" off the floor. In a bedroom the centre goes 42–50". Work it out for your own seat →
