Screens have outgrown walls. Every month we mount more 85, 98 and 100-inch TVs across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach — and each one is a small project, not a quick visit.
Why big screens are different
| Size | Width × height | Weight (no stand) | Typical VESA |
|---|---|---|---|
| 85 in | 74 × 42 in | 75–110 lb | 600×400 |
| 98 in | 86 × 49 in | 110–150 lb | 800×600 |
| 100 in | 88 × 50 in | 120–160 lb | 800×600 |
Wider panels flex, heavier ones need more anchors, and the mount's VESA range has to reach 800×600. Check your model in the VESA finder.
Two technicians, always
For 86 inches and up we send two installers. One person can't lift an 86-inch panel without flexing it, and the hook-on to the plate needs one person guiding each side.
Miami walls for big TVs
- Concrete block (CMU): the most common wall in Miami houses. We drill into the solid webs and use sleeve anchors; a wide plate lets us hit several webs.
- Poured concrete in high-rises: excellent support; anchors are shorter and the drilling is slower. See condo and high-rise TV mounting.
- Metal-stud partitions: heavy toggles through two studs plus a backer for anything over 85 inches.
Before the day: logistics
- The box: a 98-inch box is often over 8 feet long. Check the elevator — in many condos it only fits in the service elevator, which management books.
- The path: doorways, turns in hallways and stairwells.
- The certificate of insurance: most Miami buildings want one before the visit; we send it.
- Unboxing: we unbox in the room, not in the hallway.
Height and distance
A bigger screen can sit a bit lower and needs more distance. For a 98-inch TV, 9 to 13 feet is comfortable for 4K. The TV size calculator and height calculator do the math for your room.
Hurricane season
It's not about the wall — a properly anchored TV won't move. It's about the glass: big TVs often go on the wall facing the bay or the ocean. If you close shutters for a storm, make sure the TV isn't in the path of a shutter track or window film work.
